When agents think about leadership, they often imagine visibility.

Influence.

Recognition.

But the longer I’ve been in leadership, the more I’ve realized the role is actually about creating clarity for others.

It’s about staying steady when others feel uncertain.

Providing direction without needing attention.

Helping people navigate challenges without making yourself the centre of the story.

The best leaders I’ve worked with weren’t the loudest voices in the room.

They were the most grounded.

If you’re considering a leadership position, ask yourself:

Are you looking for the spotlight? Or are you willing to become the lighthouse?

Most people think being a brokerage owner is about the numbers.

It's not.

The real reward? Protecting our agents before they even have to ask.

Most agents wait for the crisis, then scramble. We get ahead of it.

That's the win. Not revenue. Not growth. Being the brokerage that sees the friction coming and handles it.

Always work with a brokerage that stays one step ahead.

Hats Off Day never disappoints! 🎩

Burnaby Heights came alive again this year, and getting to be part of it is one of my favourite traditions. There's nothing quite like spending the day on the street, catching up with familiar faces, meeting new neighbours, and feeling the energy of a community that genuinely shows up for each other.

This is what I love most about Burnaby. It's not just where I work, it's where I get to connect with the people who make this place feel like home. Every conversation, every hello, every "see you next year" is a reminder of why community matters so much to me.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to say hi and to the incredible people who put this day together year after year.

There was a moment during our recent WOO Retreat when I asked everyone to look around the room.

To make eye contact.
To smile with their eyes.
To truly see one another.

Because there is something powerful about women gathering with intention.

Not to perform. Not to compete. Not to prove anything.

But to listen, to learn, to support, to remember.

We spend so much of our lives measuring ourselves against expectations, timelines, and definitions of success that were often written without us in mind.

We’re taught to strive, achieve, become more.

But what if our greatest power isn’t found in becoming more of what the world expects?

What if it’s found in becoming more fully ourselves?

As I stood surrounded by incredible women, I felt something I had wished for throughout my career:

To be supported.
To be celebrated.
To build alongside women who believe that when one of us rises, we all rise.

I used to think being a great agent meant always having the perfect answer.

Now I believe it’s about being fully present for people.

The longer I’ve been in this industry, the more I’ve realized that clients don’t just remember the outcome. They remember how you made them feel during the process. Were you honest with them? Did you guide them with care? Did you stay steady when things felt uncertain?

That’s the kind of agent I’ve always wanted to be.

Not the loudest in the room. Not the most aggressive. But someone people can trust. Someone who listens deeply, communicates clearly, and leads with both strategy and heart.

To the agents building their careers right now: you don’t have to lose yourself to succeed in this business. You don’t have to force a version of leadership that doesn’t feel natural to you. Your calm can be powerful. Your kindness can be memorable. Your integrity can become your greatest advantage.

There’s room in this industry for more humanity, more connection, and more grounded leadership.

Grow forward.

There’s something powerful that happens when women pause long enough to hear their own voice again.

The 10th Annual Women of Oakwyn Retreat helped us to do just that. Surrounded by an incredible group of women who were willing to look inward, ask bigger questions, and reconnect with what truly matters.

We explored our beliefs, our courage, and the values that guide us when no one is watching. We talked about leadership, not as a title, but as a relationship with ourselves.

In an industry that often rewards constant motion, achievement, and external validation, this retreat was a reminder that our greatest strength comes from knowing who we are beneath all of it.

When we return to ourselves, we lead differently.

We make decisions with more clarity.

We build businesses with more intention.

We create success that feels aligned, not just accomplished.

The conversations were honest. The reflections were deep. And the collective wisdom in the room was something I’ll carry with me for a long time.

Thank you to every woman who showed up with openness, vulnerability, and courage. You reminded me that self-leadership is not about becoming someone else. It’s about remembering who you’ve been all along.

Here’s to leading from our values, trusting our inner wisdom, and growing forward together. 🤍

I used to think success was individual, now I see it differently.

The most fulfilling part of this journey has been watching other people step into their potential too 💫

Community really does change everything. I strongly believe when one person grows, we all grow forward together.

This is the kind of energy we’re building at Oakwyn Realty Northwest.

The best relationships in real estate don’t start with a transaction. They start with trust.

I’ve always believed that selling a home also means understanding the heartbeat of a community, the people in it, and what truly matters to the families making these decisions. That’s why hearing words like “down to earth,” “honest,” and “easy to talk to” means more to me than any sales number ever could.

The way I work with clients is also the way I lead my team: with openness, strategy, calm communication, and genuine care for people. I don’t believe leadership has to be loud to be powerful. I believe in guiding, listening, collaborating, and helping others grow into their own confidence.

Real estate can feel hard sometimes. My goal has always been to bring a little more humanity into it 🤍

Grateful for the trust. Grateful for the relationships. And grateful to keep growing forward together 💫

There’s a version of success that feels calm.

A version where you still work hard, still grow, still achieve… but without constantly running on adrenaline.

That’s the version I believe in now.

If this resonates with you, I’d be happy to chat. My DMs are always open 🤍

Supporting the next generation of leaders is a core part of why we do this work.

The Women of Oakwyn (WOO) Scholarship was created in partnership with UBC Sauder School of Business to help support female-identifying students enrolled at Sauder as they pursue their educational and professional goals

Through this scholarship, Women of Oakwyn aims to invest in the next generation of women leaders by helping reduce financial barriers and championing growth, opportunity, and inclusion within business and leadership education.

This initiative reflects one of Oakwyn’s core value to pursue growth & learning - a belief that continuous education, curiosity, and personal development create stronger leaders, stronger communities, and greater opportunities for future generations.

By supporting students through the WOO Scholarship, Oakwyn is proud to contribute to an environment where ambitious women can thrive, lead confidently, and shape the future of business 🌟

UBC Sauder’s broader commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion emphasizes fostering “a collaborative and respectful culture where everyone in our community can thrive and be included,” while working to remove barriers for historically underrepresented groups.

Stay tuned for our silent auction and donation link 💫
