For the fifth time, the Bank of Canada held the overnight rate at 2.25 percent. ‼️
Merge Mortgage tells us, The latest inflation reading landed at 2.8 percent for April, up from 2.4 in March. Almost all of that jump was gas prices reacting to the war in the Middle East. Strip energy out, and inflation is a calmer 2.0 percent.
What does this mean? The rate hike era is not reopening because of a spike at the pump. For homeowners, that is the most important sentence you will read this month.
➡️ Buying a home in the fastest growing province in Canada? A balanced market is a gift. More selection. More time to think. A rate environment that has finally stopped moving!
