Good design isn’t about filling a room. It’s about knowing what the room needs. ✨

For this space, I wanted to celebrate the height rather than fight it.

The floor-to-ceiling sheers soften the architecture and draw your eye upward, while the sculptural pendants use that incredible vertical space to create a moment. Below, the curved sectional and round coffee table bring everything back down to a comfortable, human scale.

That balance is something I think about constantly when styling a home: Where does your eye go? How does the room make you feel? And does every piece contribute to the story?

One of my favourite details is the deep green layered into the otherwise neutral palette. You don’t always need a lot of colour to make an impact. Sometimes one intentional accent, repeated a few times, is enough.

This is what Styled & Sourced by Rylia is about — creating spaces that feel elevated and considered, but still feel like somewhere you actually want to live.

Design tip: If you have high ceilings, don’t automatically fill every wall. Use lighting, drapery and scale to work with the height while allowing some negative space to breathe.

If your room feels “off,” it might not need more decor. It might need better SCALE. 👀

This is one of the biggest differences between a room that looks decorated and a room that feels designed.

Take this office.

I could have filled the wall with several smaller pieces, but this oversized artwork creates one strong focal point and gives the room presence.

The full-height drapery adds softness and visual height.

The warm wood desk keeps the space grounded.

And the graphic rug brings pattern into the room without competing with the artwork.

Even the smaller styling details were chosen with intention — because good styling isn’t about adding more. It’s knowing what deserves attention and what should quietly support it.

✨ TRY THIS IN YOUR HOME:
If you have a large blank wall, resist the urge to fill it with lots of little things. Try one oversized piece first. Larger scale can actually make a room feel calmer, more elevated and more intentional.

A TV wall doesn’t have to be hidden—it can become the most refined design moment in your room.

Instead of hiding the TV, we designed the entire wall around it.

A warm walnut slat wall brings texture and architectural depth, while custom built-ins provide seamless storage without feeling heavy. The muted olive cabinetry adds an earthy, grounded contrast—letting the natural wood remain the hero.

Slim black floating shelves, sculptural lighting, and curated accessories were layered in to balance the scale of the TV and make the whole composition feel intentional.

The palette of warm walnut, olive green cabinetry, rust-toned accents, black detailing, and soft warm neutrals creates a space that feels mid-century inspired, organic modern, and effortlessly inviting.

Because great design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about elevating the everyday elements you already need in your home.

This is what “quiet luxury” actually looks like—soft, sculptural, and impossible to ignore. 🤍✨
Texture does all the talking here.

There’s something about this room that instantly makes you want to stay awhile.

The curved bouclé sofa creates a beautiful sculptural focal point,
while the soft neutral drapery adds warmth, movement and softness to the height of the room.

Then we brought in black accents, oversized greenery and that incredible statement chandelier
to give the space contrast and just enough drama.

What I love most is how simple the colour palette actually is.
Cream, warm beige, black and natural green—
and yet the room has so much depth because every element brings a different texture, shape or scale.

And that view framed by the black window?
It almost becomes another piece of artwork. 🌿

This is why a neutral room doesn’t need to feel plain.
When the proportions, textures, lighting and details are right,
understated can make the biggest statement.

Black + cream will forever be one of my favourite combinations—and this room is exactly why. 🖤🤍

This space is all about taking a simple palette and making it feel intentional, layered and elevated.

The cream sectional keeps the room light and inviting, while the oversized black textured rug grounds the entire space and creates that dramatic contrast. The marble coffee table brings in another layer of movement, and those three arched mirrors repeat the curves in the furniture while making the room feel taller and more expansive.

For the finishing touches, we layered in textured pillows, an earthy olive throw, greenery, books and a few sculptural accessories—just enough styling to make the room feel finished without taking away from the architecture.

And I love the tension between the elements here: soft upholstery against strong black beams, curved mirrors against clean architectural lines, and warm brass against a mostly monochromatic palette.

Sometimes the rooms with the fewest colours are the ones where every detail matters most. ✨

A room can be beautiful and still work hard. That was the goal here. 🤎

This entire feature wall was designed to do more than hold a TV. The warm wood cabinetry adds storage and softness, the black built-ins create depth, and the dramatic stone becomes the focal point that pulls everything together.

One of my favourite design lessons from this space: contrast doesn’t make a room feel cold when you balance it with warmth and texture.

Here, the black is softened with natural wood, creamy upholstery, layered textiles, greenery and that caramel leather chair. Even the shelf styling repeats those tones so the whole room feels connected rather than overly “matched.”

And those little built-in window seats? They turn what could have been unused space into cozy extra seating — proof that function can absolutely be part of the design.

Design takeaway: When working with a high-contrast palette, repeat each colour or material in a few places around the room. Your eye starts connecting the dots, and the space feels intentional.

A space that feels like a deep breath. 🤎

This bonus room was designed for the way life actually happens—slow mornings with coffee, late-night conversations, and quiet moments to simply unwind. The sculptural rust sectional invites you to sink in and stay awhile, while warm wood tones, organic shapes, and layered textures create a sense of comfort and ease throughout the space.

It’s the kind of room where people naturally gather, where time slows down, and where relaxation feels effortless—not planned.

More than an extra room, it’s a feeling of home.

Think neutral means boring? This space is here to completely change your mind—elevated, bold, and anything but ordinary. 🤍🖤

This living room was designed around one of my favourite concepts: a neutral palette doesn’t need more colour—it needs more layers.

The oversized cream sectional creates a beautiful foundation, while a collected mix of pillows brings in texture, pattern and personality. Black accents, sculptural coffee tables and dramatic floor-to-ceiling drapery add contrast, while oversized greenery brings an organic element that softens the entire space.

And then there’s that natural light. ✨ The way it filters through the black sheers creates such a warm, moody atmosphere and completely changes how the room feels throughout the day.

The goal wasn’t to make everything match. It was to make everything belong together.

That’s the difference thoughtful styling can make.
