I heard a comment today about her negative experiences in Japan, which is very interesting... Made me think really hard coz I noticed most of what she observed, are true in many aspects, but my perception is entirely different, the way how I look at it is more of curiosity. I feel sorry to hear of her experiences, that I hope isn't Japan's norm. Made me realized she's very right in what she observed. I've seen, seems there's no warmth, very methodical and mechanical, I rarely saw people chatting inside the subway. People just mind their own business. On the other hand, isn't this a good thing though? I was amazed what I saw in the subway station in Tokyo coz in fact, quite robotic! (to the point I felt being inside a sci-fi movie when people act insanely the same, going same direction, same pace so no bumping with one another in a million people per day, in almost perfect efficiency, and so clean! The people, mostly workers I assumed, walking, in what looked like a tunnel in the subway, wear almost same clothes and black shoes to the point it was kinda scary), I was so amused! The way we may look at it may differ, coming from a very friendly and easy-to-approach or chat with, willing-to-help-type-of-culture. I was actually fascinated by their discipline and I luv the way how they carry themselves, (except if I'll see the racism or anything negative attitudes, which thankfully I haven't experienced). I love going back in this very clean, serene and beautiful country!

How did we save on our Iceland Trip and had enjoyed a wonderful experience for less? Check flights way ahead of time and keep checking until you'd see $500ish airfare! It's usually around $1,200. Instead of hotel, book thru AirBnB! We got a great deal for a 2BR very spacious, new condo for only $400/night that other units charge $700/night in same building. Usually hotel rates are way more expensive such as a hostel is around $200& up. (Hostel= you share the room with perhaps 10 other people or strangers but this one is located in a very scenic area). Food is generally expensive. We saved by buying groceries. There's also Costco in Reykjavik. Food is cheapest (& souvenir items) in Flyover Iceland. Don't miss this "flying theater" experience! Blue Lagoon is worth it! I'll create itinerary so tune-in!
