Real estate is about so much more than buying and selling homes. Sometimes, it’s about helping a family navigate a major new chapter!

This family has a LOT of moving pieces! Two adult children moving into their own home (one sibling bought it, and the two are going to live together ❤️), mom and dad preparing for an out-of-country move, job change for him, basically retirement for her, storage units in between possession dates, and coordinating it all to make the transition as smooth as possible.

They’re juggling so many changes, and I’m so grateful to be part of the process, helping piece things together.

But the real credit goes to this family. Their flexibility, teamwork, and willingness to tackle all the details are what’s making it happen! It’s actually amazing to witness. Class A organized.

Sold, way back in July! The sellers needed a long possession to ensure that they found THE RIGHT home in time. Little did they know they would find their right home in July as well…you just never know. Perfect example of better safe than sorry. Sellers took possession of their new home earlier this week, and have said it feels perfect for them, and they made the right choice staying in Okotoks! They debated moving to Calgary.
The buyers have little kids and are going to LOVE this yard so much.
I bet they are so freaking excited to get moved onto this Okotoks gem of a street! ❤️🎉💫

And just like that she’s scooped up! Conditionally sold in 1 day on the market. It’s not surprising, these sellers were incredibly great about their home maintenance and listing prep.

I will always love summer more… ☀️
Give me those long, warm days when the heat is too hot for most, time at the lake, reading outside in the morning, and going for a walk morning or evening… and it’s light out.

But I have to admit the crisp air, the beautiful colours, cozy sweaters, and the dark evenings of curling up with a movie or book by the fireplace is dang good too.

For me, I look forward to getting that fall cleaning/organization itch and getting back to ball hockey twice a week!!

How’s everyone else feeling about fall? Fresh start vibes?

🍂🍂 Are you sitting on the fence about selling this fall?....

It’s that time of year, where families are back into the routine of things and deciding what their family needs.

The right time to sell isn’t simply based on the market- it’s also about what makes sense for a family. Besides, most markets are still fairly strong around Calgary (although there are many micro-markets) ;)

It may be time to sell if:
- You hate that your home doesn’t have enough space to handle the Costco run
- You are tired of the kids fighting over the bathroom
- The kids are getting big, and sharing a room is becoming awkward
- You hate cooking because your kitchen is too small
- You don’t want to scrape the windshield one more winter
- Mortgage renew is approaching

Waiting until Winter or Spring:
- Winter = less competition
- You are still unsure of what community you want to live in
- You need time to strength your finances
- You just signed a new mortgage renewal and the penalty would be heavy
- Your home needs a few repairs or preparation to show it’s best, and get through inspection successfully

July was an absolute party!! I went on an unexpected vacation to Mexico with a girlfriend. This resort was totally out of this world. Unlike anything I’ve ever been to before..! I’m sure this is how the celebrities travel.

After being home for two days, Cedric and I went to Ottawa to have our annual lakefront vacation with his family. What a privilege it is to be able to see how much the kids have changed each year!

August has come to a screeching halt. For life and business. For those who know me, you know I have a lot of stomach issues. And this has been going on for years. I was rushed to the hospital a couple of weeks ago… and I’m working on diet changes, retesting and looking into a new doctor. Feels like square one. But we keep our chins up. We control what we can. Keep doing the things, and in time everything sorts itself out. I’ve chosen to go easy on myself the last three weeks.

Sometimes it feels like the shoe always has to drop when the year has been as good as it has. You feel that sometimes…? Do we only get so many days before the next challenges hit us in the gut (literally)..?

Ready for a fresh month, upcoming business to take care of. Come on September!

I do a lot of reading throughout the fall and winter months! It’s time to stock up the reading list.

I do have a book club that provides me with one book every month. Otherwise, this summer I have been reading autobiographies, anything by Kristin Hannah (she is my new favourite author), and about to start an Elin Hilderbrand (what do we think of her…?).
