NOVEMBER MARKET STATS ARE OUT!

“Lending rates are expected to increase next year, which has created a sense of urgency among purchasers who want to get into the housing market before rates rise,” said CREB® Chief Economist Ann-Marie Lurie. “At the same time, supply levels have struggled to keep pace, causing tight conditions and additional price gains.”

Here’s a little breakdown:

- Last month's sales were 46.8% more than a year before.
- There were 21.9% fewer homes listed than the previous year.
- The benchmark price for all home types was $461,000.

“Moving into the fourth quarter, the pace of housing demand continues to exceed expectations in the city,” said CREB® chief economist Ann-Marie Lurie. “Much of the persistent strength is likely related to improving confidence in future economic prospects, as well as a sense of urgency among consumers to take advantage of the low-lending-rate environment.”

- There were 16.3% fewer homes listed than the previous year.
- The benchmark price for all home types was $460,100.
