Today photos are being taken for a neighbour that is listing their house with us this week. We always want bright sunny days for our sellers but that doesn't always work out. Today might not be bright and sunny but last night's snowfall certainly highlights the beauty of our street and its mature tree canopy!

Not able to get downtown to participate in the Public Hearing on Rezoning today? Watch the livestream - on now!

On Monday, April 22, members of City Council will meet for the Public Hearing to review the proposed citywide rezoning.

The “What We Heard” report from citywide engagement has been shared with Council for their consideration, and is now available for you to view online.

You can participate in the Public Hearing by signing up to speak in-person or by phone. Online written submissions for the Public Hearing are now closed.

Calgary Parks is once again giving away trees. They have 5000 to spread through the city with 17 different tree types!

Registration Opens for your Neighbourhood Soon!

NE - April 22 at 10 a.m.
SE - April 29 at 10 a.m.
NW - May 6 at 10 a.m.
SW - May 13 at 10 a.m.

Make sure to complete the Right Tree, Right Location e-learning module prior to your registration date.

🧭 N.E. Calgary registration opens Monday, April 22 at 10 a.m.

🧭 S.W. Calgary registration opens Monday, May 13 at 10 a.m.

HOW: On the day your quadrant of YYC opens for registration, go to https://brnw.ch/21wIQ5R to apply for your tree.

👉 You need to do the Right Tree, Right Location eLearning module on https://brnw.ch/21wIQ5R before you can get a tree—BUT this year, you can do the module NOW – before registration opens. 🧑‍💻 Pro tip: Do the module now. 🧑‍💻

👉 This is a very popular program, and trees are on a first-come, first-served basis; so note when your quadrant registration opens— and don’t delay.

🤔 FAQs 🤔

🌲How many trees are there?

This year we have 5000 trees. We’re accepting and processing one tree application per address.

🌲Can I pick the tree I want?

When you apply, you’ll be able to pick three species of tree, and if you get a tree, you’ll get one of your choices.

🌲I did the module and applied for a tree – am I guaranteed one?

Because of the popularity of this program, we can’t guarantee a tree.

🌲Do I have to do the eLearning “Right Tree, Right Location” module to get a tree?

You’ll need to do the module to get a tree. But you CAN complete the module BEFORE registration—so when we open for applications, you can immediately apply. (This is new this year!)

🌲When will I get my tree?

Further information on tree pick-up dates and locations will be emailed to successful applicants.

🌲How will our current drought in YYC impact trees and tree watering?

It’s still important to plant new trees and use efficient watering methods to help get them established.

The water usage for each tree is very low when considering the long-term climate-positive benefits provided by a healthy tree canopy.

December 2023 Calgary Housing Statistics have been released by CREB. We certainly kept busy and it looks like many of our colleagues did too.

Another exciting month of Calgary real estate. We continue to see a tight market with competing offers as an ongoing trend. This month we submitted the 23rd competing offer on one particularly affordably priced property! You can't help but wonder if we will see the typical seasonal slowdown during the holidays or if it will be full steam ahead like it was most of last summer.
