This past Saturday night my sweetheart helped me celebrate receiving my 40 year long service award from The Calgary Real Estate Board. It was a fun & memorable evening. It was wonderful to see so many friends that I haven't seen in many years.

FYI - last week transfer fees at our land title office almost tripled. This will add about $800 to the cost of selling your home. Our fees still remain low compared to other provinces that have land transfer taxes of about 1% of the sales price.

This article was just published about the surprising number of Calgary homes where they are finding life threatening levels of radon gas. I have been aware of the radon issue for a couple of years. My experience is that I am finding up to 30-50% of the homes that I test have unacceptable levels. I have a few detectors. Friends and and clients are welcome to borrow them for testing.

It was a pleasure to help this wonderful couple get settled in their first home! I love my job! 🙂 - We have known Rob for 4 years and recently asked him to be our realtor to assist us with the purchase of our first home. We are so glad we did! We looked at homes with Rob for about 4 months and he was responsive, patient, and helpful throughout the process. Rob really shined when it came time to put in our first (and last) offer. Given how hot the market is, we were prepared to lose multiple house offers and pay more than we originally wanted to in order to get into the market. Thanks to Rob, we didn't experience either of these things. Rob was incredibly knowledgeable in the offer and closing process, gave us amazing advice, worked quickly, and ensured the offer we put in was competitive and in our best interest. It's been a busy first half of the year. Single family detached prices are up 13% to an average of $761,000. - Once again I'm in the top ten at my office of 110 Realtors!! WHOA!! Thank you to my past clients and friends that I had the privilege of helping. Also, thank you to those that referred their family and friends.
