🌧️🌊 Calgary’s rivers are rising fast as heavy rainfall continues across the region.

The Calgary Fire Department has issued a boating advisory for the Bow and Elbow Rivers, while rainfall warnings and high streamflow advisories remain in effect.

Right now, officials are warning residents about:

⚠️ Fast-moving water and strong currents
🚶 Pathway closures and unsafe riverbank conditions

The good news: widespread flooding is not currently expected, but river levels are still being closely monitored as additional rain moves through the region.

Chestermere’s market remained on the slower side in April 2026, with detached homes seeing the strongest activity while apartment sales were virtually nonexistent during the month:

🏡 Detached homes: Benchmark price at $792,600, up 1.2% month-over-month and down 1.59% year-over-year
📊 Semi-detached: Sitting at $596,500, up 1.62% month-over-month and up 0.51% YoY
🏘️ Row homes: Averaging $401,900, up 5.07% month-over-month and up 4.93% year-over-year
🏢 Apartments: Benchmark price at $257,300, up 0.51% month-over-month and down 3.05% YoY

Absorption rates remained relatively low across most property types — 22% for detached homes, 16% for semi-detached, 13% for row homes, and 0% for apartments, reflecting extremely limited apartment sales activity in April.

Days on market averaged 40 days for detached homes, 68 days for semi-detached homes, and 36 days for row homes. Apartment days on market were not reported due to the lack of sales activity.
