TRAFFIC UPDATE 85th St. & Wentworth Dr. SW from Councillor JeffDavisonYYC office: After the recent incidence involving a pedestrian, the following improvements have been made to the Wentworth Dr & 85 St SW intersection:

· Installed westbound left turn arrow – Advanced protected movement during school pick up and drop off times (Completed on November 27, 2019)

· Increased pedestrian walk time to 10 secs & pedestrian re-call phase during school pick up and drop off times (Completed on November 27, 2019)

· Upgraded the pedestrian signal heads with a larger side by side display and countdown timers (Completed on November 27, 2019)

· Installed ladder crosswalks on the north and south legs (Completed on November 13, 2019)

Our Roads Safety team will continue to monitor the intersection operation to see if any further modifications are required.

Green carts spring into weekly collection schedule. Spring has sprung, and with it comes an increase in yard waste. Weekly green cart collection will resume the first week of April.

Calgarians can visit calgary.ca/collection to find out their new green cart schedule and to sign up for free reminders including phone, email and text alerts or download the free Garbage Day app to receive notifications on their smartphones.

There are no changes to blue or black cart collection.

There was a Coyote sighting Monday morning at 530am at the park/playground at the corner of Cougar Ridge Avenue and Cougar Ridge Circle SW near CFIS. It ws a lone coyote running between houses and around the greenspace.

Please be careful when taking pets out early in the morning or in the evening. Also, please report all coyote sightings to 311 (by phone, online or on the app) as the City wants to track coyote hotspots.
