Okay this one is SO fun.

8628 7 Street SW is a beautifully kept 1958 mid-century split-level and if you’ve watched Fargo Season 2, it might look a little familiar.

The Solverson family home has such a similar look and Fargo was filmed right here in Calgary, which makes this little side-by-side even better.

Beyond the Fargo connection, I genuinely love this house. So much original character, such good lines, the coolest roofline and just a really special property.

Before you start touring homes or saving listings, there’s one step that helps everything else fall into place more smoothly.

Pre-approval gives you a clear understanding of your budget, helps strengthen your position as a buyer, and allows you to move quickly when the right home becomes available.

It also helps surface any financing issues early in the process, so you’re not dealing with surprises when timing matters most.

In a fast-moving market, being prepared upfront can make the entire experience more manageable and far less overwhelming.

One important note: pre-approval is not final approval. Your lender will still complete a full underwriting review once you’re under contract, so keeping your financial situation steady during your search is key.

I’m grateful to be involved in something that brings people together in such a meaningful way.

Side by Side for ALS is a province-wide walk and fun run series supporting people living with and affected by ALS across Alberta. It brings communities together to walk, run, roll, fundraise, volunteer, and show families that they are not alone.

To me, that’s what makes it so special.

It’s rooted in connection, support, and showing up for people through something incredibly hard.

One of my favourite things about Calgary is that there isn't one "best" neighbourhood.

The best community is the one that fits your life.

For me, these six stand out for different reasons:

📍 West Hillhurst — endless character, Kensington, the river, what else could you need?

📍 Sunalta — one of my favourite places to live in my early twenties. Walkable, connected, and still one of the more affordable inner-city options.

📍 Glamorgan — mature trees, big lots, great schools, and arguably one of Calgary's most important landmarks: Glamorgan Bakery.

📍 Belmont — incredible value, beautiful Foothills views, and so much exciting growth happening in the area.

📍 Woodbine — Fish Creek Park, character homes, and some of my favourite local spots in the city.

📍 Sundance — my childhood community and still one of Calgary's best family-friendly neighbourhoods, complete with lake access and direct access to Fish Creek.
