The Bank of Canada has kept its policy rate at 2.25%, yet fixed rates follow bond yields, not that rate — and yields have been climbing, so some lenders have nudged fixed rates up.

Next decision is October 28, and September inflation numbers land October 19 — both worth watching if you're buying this fall.
