The Avalon Homes team was proud to host the YYC Hail Resilience Improvement Network Working Group at Emerge Living in Belmont, our multi-family rental townhome community.
The tour brought together representatives from the , the insurance industry, manufacturers, builders, and other key industry stakeholders to see firsthand how resilient building products and construction practices are being integrated into today’s modern multi-family developments.
It’s one thing to discuss resilience in a boardroom; it’s another to stand on an active construction site and see these products being installed in real time.
The visit provided the working group with an opportunity to experience:
🏠 Real-world installation methods
🛠️ Practical applications of resilient building materials
🌩️ Strategies to improve resistance to hail and severe weather events
🤝 Open collaboration between builders, municipalities, insurers, and industry partners
At Avalon Homes, we’re committed to building homes that are not only energy-efficient and comfortable, but also durable and resilient for the future. Sharing knowledge and collaborating across industries is essential as we continue to improve the performance of Alberta’s housing.
A sincere thank you to everyone who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and contributed to advancing hail resilience across our industry.
Together, we’re helping build stronger communities—one project at a time.
