Well, we are certainly in the midst of winter! We hope you are all keeping warm this February.
The real estate market has picked up lately after a slow holiday season. More buyers are coming into the market, sellers are preparing their homes to list, and we anticipate an active spring.
At our recent Greater Calgary Real Estate meeting, our broker was discussing communities in Calgary where homes have actually been increasing in price since 2014. Several of these locations are in the Deep South Calgary area. Real estate is very local, and we see communities side by side that reflect the market very differently -- even streets or buildings in the same community.
One area that is holding its value is Douglasdale, which includes the estate area, homes backing onto the beautiful golf course and along the ridge with spectacular views of the mountains and river, and also Douglasglen and Quarry Park. We've always thought of it as the Switzerland of the Deep South as there are rolling hills and lush, green parks throughout the community.
