24-HOURS NOTICE: When do you need to give
Under Alberta’s Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), a landlord must
give the tenant at least 24-hours written notice before entering a
rental unit for any of the following reasons:
Situations requiring 24-hour written notice:
• To inspect the premises, to check the condition or maintenance
of the property.
• To make repairs or do maintenance work.
• To show the premises to prospective tenants, buyers, or lenders.
• To control pests or perform similar property-related services.
• For any other reasonable purpose related to the operation,
