🦃🍂 Thanksgiving Traditions: My Homemade Turkey Stuffing!

There’s something magical about the aroma of homemade stuffing on Thanksgiving morning. Fresh bread, sautéed onions, celery, butter, garlic and herbs coming together in one delicious family tradition. ❤️

This is my go-to recipe for a 10 lb turkey, and the beauty of it is that you don’t have to measure everything perfectly. Cooking should be about enjoying the process!

🍞 Ingredients:

* 1½ loaves of fresh bread, your choice (homemade is even better!)
* 2 medium onions, diced
* 10 stalks of celery, chopped
* 3 cloves of garlic, minced
* 1 cup of unsalted butter OR ½ cup olive oil
* 1–2 tablespoons of poultry seasoning
* Fresh sage, rosemary, thyme and parsley, chopped
* Salt and freshly ground black pepper
* Approximately 4 cups of chicken stock, homemade or store-bought

👩‍🍳 Let’s Make Stuffing!

1. Cut your bread into cubes and place them in a very large mixing bowl.
2. In a large skillet, melt your butter or warm your olive oil. Add the diced onions and sauté until they begin to turn translucent.
3. Add the celery and continue cooking until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
4. Add your poultry seasoning, fresh herbs, salt and pepper. Your kitchen will smell heavenly!
5. Pour the sautéed vegetables and all those wonderful buttery juices over the cubed bread. Toss gently.
6. Gradually add your chicken stock, mixing as you go. You want the bread nicely moistened, not soggy. You may not need all 4 cups.
7. Loosely fill the turkey’s cavities with stuffing just before roasting. Use kitchen twine or metal skewers to secure the bird. This is called trussing, and it helps keep the wings tucked neatly in place.

Make sure the centre of the stuffing reaches 74°C (165°F) before serving.

Great real estate photography starts before the photographer ever walks through the door.

If you’re getting ready to list, make sure your Realtor helps you prepare the home so it looks clean, spacious and inviting on camera.

A few simple things make a big difference:

• Put the toilet seats down
• Hide charging cords and electrical cables
• Clear small appliances off kitchen counters
• Remove excess toiletries from bathrooms
• Declutter countertops, shelves and nightstands
• Make the beds and fluff the pillows
• Open blinds and curtains to let in natural light
• Remove garbage cans, pet bowls and cleaning supplies
• Clear the front entrance and tidy outdoor spaces
• Add a few simple finishing touches — fresh towels, greenery or flowers
