Dry conditions and increasing fire danger in our area are behind the change.

Not allowed:
🚫 Any open burning on private land
🚫 Fireworks and exploding targets

Still allowed:
✅ Backyard fire pits with screens
✅ Propane fire pits and gas-powered appliances
✅ Charcoal and wood-burning devices with an on/off switch (barbecues, smokers, stoves)
✅ Indoor wood fires
✅ Open flame oil devices

Please note: this notice applies only to the urban service area

This Fire Restriction applies to the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass urban service area only. Our municipal boundary is much larger and includes areas surrounded by the Calgary Forest Area, which issues its own fire restrictions.

• Buyers – With more homes available, you have options. Take the time to find the right fit, but don't wait too long on homes that are priced well and show well—they're still attracting strong interest and, in some cases, multiple offers.

No one tells you how loud an empty house can be...

The last year and a bit has been the biggest adjustment of my life. Nothing prepares you for loving someone with your whole heart and then suddenly only getting to spend half of your time with them.

When she's here, the house is full of laughter, questions, little conversations, and endless energy. When she's gone... the silence is deafening.

I catch myself looking into her empty room or scrolling back through old photos and videos. Thousands of little moments from when she was younger. The days when I didn't have to ask what she was up to because I was there for all of it.

I miss the ordinary moments the most.

The last year has brought more tears than I ever expected. It's challenged my mental health, forced me to rediscover who I am outside of being "Mom," and reminded me that healing isn't a straight line.

But here's what I have learned.

Grief and gratitude can exist together.

I can ache for the moments I miss while also feeling incredibly thankful that Blake has a dad who loves her just as fiercely as I do. We've worked hard to make co-parenting successful, and through every decision, she's remained at the centre of it all.

That's something I never take for granted.

I try not to rush the little moments anymore. I soak them in. I say yes to one more game, one more bedtime story, one more hug. I've learned that time isn't measured by how much of it we have, but by how present we choose to be.

Co-parenting is still the hardest thing I've ever done.

But if there's one thing it's taught me, it's this: love doesn't become smaller because time does. If anything, it grows deeper. 🤍
