Professionalism has always been about more than a title to me. It’s how you show up, how you communicate, how you handle the hard conversations, and most importantly, how you make people feel.

Don Inouye’s session on The Trust Advantage at Activate was such a great reminder of something I’ve always believed in, but hearing it put into words really resonated with me.

Every interaction either builds trust or erodes it.

Slow down. Listen. Ask the right questions. Double-check your work. Take accountability. Hold yourself to a high standard, even when no one is watching.

After more than 27 years in real estate, I still believe that how you treat people matters just as much as the work you do for them. People remember when they felt heard, supported and genuinely cared for.

A great reminder of the kind of business I’ve always wanted to build and continue building every day.
