Rowan Cottage, New Galloway, Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway

Inside it is light and airy with simple white walls decorated with tasteful prints and original paintings and has natural pine doors and fittings. The accommodation for six persons consists of an entrance porch with dual access to the spacious lounge/diner and to the well-appointed kitchen. The kitchen has good cooking facilities, a clothes washer/dryer, and a small breakfast bar.

A hallway leads to the master double bedroom and main toilet/shower room. Upstairs there are two spacious twin bedrooms and a WC cloakroom. The cottage benefits from oil fired central heating. The boiler house provides secure storage for bikes etc., plus a bait fridge/freezer.

A private lane leads to a turning area and ample private parking. It has a mature and secluded woodland style garden bounded by a burn (stream). A bridge leads to a public footpath and a lovely meadows walk to the River Ken and to the Ken Bridge Hotel (1 mile).

Even though the cottage is situated in the village it gives a sense of seclusion and privacy. The self-catering cottage is just 70 yards from the village community shop. The village also boasts a lovely cafe and the Catstrand community arts centre which provides regular entertainment and activities plus WIFI facilities.

We do accept well-behaved dogs in Rowan Cottage (£25 per dog). We do ask that they are kept off the furniture and beds.

Built on two levels, The Dairy House has beautiful polished wooden floors with wool scatter-rugs throughout and the interior design has been very thoughtfully completed. Having wheelchair access and with most accommodation being on the ground floor, this property is suitable for anyone with a disability.

On the ground floor, there is an open-plan living room with a three-seater sofa and two armchairs, a feature tiled fireplace with coal-effect electric fire, a television with video, DVD player and a radio. The kitchen is very spacious and has a washing machine, dishwasher, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and everything you might need during your stay.

The dining area has a beautiful inlaid dining table and chairs. The ground floor bedroom has a mahogany sleigh bed with reproduction furniture. The Ground Floor also houses the bathroom with its modern white suite and a power shower over the bath.

The upper floor is accessed by an open staircase leading to the gallery bedroom housing a comfy bed and matching furniture.

A cot and a Z-bed are also available – please enquire at time of booking.

The Dairy House enjoys fabulous views across the estuary of the River Dee as it flows through its wooded valley, past Kirkcudbright and into the Solway Firth at Little Ross Island. The scenes change both with the ebb and flow of the tide and with the turn of the seasons.

If you’re looking for a real chance to escape the ordeals of everyday life, Beach Cottage is perfect. It’s situated next to the unspoiled Lincolnshire Coastal Park, with its abundant bird life, flora and fauna. So you can spend your days on the beach and exploring the area, then return to your own private haven at the end of the day.

High-quality furnishings and interior design at Beach Cottage make this a truly wonderful retreat. It has an open-plan living area on the ground floor. The fully-equipped kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge and a small counter top freezer (which is in a cupboard under the stairs), dishwasher and washer/dryer. There is a sitting and dining area, with a TV, DVD player, Sonos Music System, local information folders and reference books for wild flowers and birds. The wood-burning stove is perfect to relax in front of on cold nights, listening to the waves crash onto the beach outside. There’s also underfloor heating downstairs (with radiators upstairs) so you’ll be nice and toasty during your time here. This space leads onto the beach room, with decking beyond and an outside shower.

There is a separate WC on the ground floor with a small hallway and stable door (good for toddlers/children and dogs). The bunk bed room (2 bunk beds suitable for children) is also downstairs. Upstairs is the master bedroom (6′ bed or two 3′ single beds) with French doors that open onto a decked veranda, where you can take in breath-taking views of the sand and sea. It has an en-suite bathroom with a large walk in shower and special ‘Tub Bath’.

Outside, the sheltered summer house (tucked below the cottage) is a favourite with guests. They love being able to make the most of the afternoon and evening sunshine – it’s perfect for barbecues.

Molecey Mill and the Granary has three separate rental opportunities which can be combined to form a 13 bedroom self-catering escape.

The Duck House at the Granary is a self-contained one bedroom retreat next to the gentle Mill Stream. Enjoying panoramic views across the main garden and access directly onto willow lawn, it is relaxing and cosy – the perfect place to de-stress. This limestone built, open-plan studio is enhanced with chunky cast iron radiators. Beautifully finished, with a modern kitchen fitted with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and small freezer. Guests can also request washing and drying facilities from the main house. There is a private path that leads from the main gates to the Duck House. Parking is available adjacent to the accommodation but assistance with bags can be given.

The Granary has 6 bedrooms all with king size beds. There are also two pull out single beds in one of the double rooms to make a family room. The Granary was built in 1773 and is a Grade II listed building, so the bedrooms are cosy and on the top floor you do need to take care as the beams are at head height for those slightly taller people.

We are located just 1 mile away from the beautiful village of Welton in Lincolnshire, our 5 themed yurts are situated within an 11 acre equestrian farm. Our yurts are authentic Mongolian yurts not single skin tents and are to such a high standard that we can open all year round, they are cool in the summer and very well insulated for the winter. The sunsets are breath taking, our skies are massive, you can really take the time to unwind and truly relax around an open fire or cosy up in your yurt with your log burner. The beauty of our campsite in regards to children is that there is absolutely nothing at all to do here, bring a football or a tennis ball and watch them make their own fun, we see it most days and its brilliant.

Every yurt has its own private bathroom consisting of toilet, sink and bathing facilities. The Balinese, French and Gothic yurt bathrooms all have hairdryers in them as these yurts don’t have electricity in them.

Towels can be supplied at an extra cost on request.

There is a communal kitchen located in the cabin. Here you have use of a big fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and microwave. We also provide glasses, plates, pots pans and cutlery.

There’s plenty of BBQs located at the cabin for you to use free of charge, you will need to bring charcoal as we don’t supply this. Cleaning charge applies.

All yurts have either woodburning hot tubs or multi jet electric hot tubs.
