I used to drive 45 minutes each way from The Toronto Beaches to Newmarket just to check on my dad.

I was trying to keep up with work and life while carrying a quiet worry that never really switched off.

How was he doing?
Was he managing okay?
What if he needed help and I wasn’t there?

He was living alone in his bungalow, but the yard, garden, and everyday responsibilities were becoming harder for one person to manage.
