I’ve been on the board of directors for the PEI Real Estate Association for the past six years. In that time I’ve served as vice president, president, and now past president. All the positions on the board are volunteer and we’ve all devoted a lot of our time. But for all the time we’ve devoted, I feel like I’ve gotten it back ten times over. The relationships, the training, the skills, the mentorship, these have all shaped me for the better over this time. Thank you so much to the PEI Real Estate Association for recognizing my service to the board of directors. Here’s to another year! 🥂

PEI Realtors are always giving back to their community. This year the PEI Real Estate Association picked Lennon Recover House as their charity of choice. We focused our efforts on a single charity and in doing so, we were able to donate a sizeable $50,000 and make a big impact on that organization.

I’m very proud to be a part of the PEI Real Estate Association and the work that we do.

We are incredibly honored to have been selected as this year’s charity partner by the Prince Edward Island Real Estate Association, and to receive a generous donation of $50,000.

For our organization, this is more than just a contribution—it’s an investment in recovery, in second chances, and in the future of individuals and families across Prince Edward Island.

As a nonprofit, every dollar directly impacts the people we serve. This support helps us continue providing safe, stable housing and recovery-focused programming, while also giving us the ability to grow and meet the increasing need in our community.

Moments like this remind us that recovery is not something anyone has to face alone. It takes a community—and today, we are reminded just how strong that community truly is.

To everyone involved, thank you for believing in our mission and standing with us as we continue to break the stigma and support Islanders on their journey to recovery.

The Bank of Canada held rates again today at 2.25%…

We’re still in this weird “wait and see” phase. Inflation is ticking up short-term (mostly energy), but the overall expectation is that it settles back down closer to 2% over time.

What does that actually mean for real estate?

👉 Borrowing costs aren’t dropping (yet)
👉 But they’re also not going up (for now)
👉 And most experts are expecting small moves either way — not dramatic swings

What this means: stability… with a bit of uncertainty layered on top.

From what I’m seeing locally, buyers are slowly getting more comfortable with these rates. Sellers are adjusting expectations. Deals are happening — just not at the frenzy pace we saw a couple years ago.

If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a big rate drop… you might be waiting longer than you think.

The market doesn’t wait for perfect conditions — it moves when people make decisions.

If you’re trying to figure out whether now makes sense for you, shoot me a message. Happy to walk through your situation 👍

The Bank of Canada held its overnight lending rate at 2.25% in this morning’s announcement — a signal they’re staying the course (for now).

The flu set me back a bit so I was a little late getting this sign up. But I’m glad I did today. Now I can stop disappointing everyone who calls to inquire about it. I wish I had 10 more of these lots to sell.

Since we’re on that topic, if YOU have a lot in Charlottetown that you’re looking to sell, I have a list of buyers who would be interested!

The Bank of Canada just cut interest rates by 0.25%, making it even easier to take your first step into homeownership.

I’m currently in Ottawa for with PEIREA. We were lucky enough to hear from Arlene Dickinson this afternoon.

She was asked about how she got to where she is today given that she came from such humble beginnings. If you’re not aware, Arlene finished high school early at age 16 and got married at 19, divorced at 31 and had 4 kids to support.

Arlene asked the room to raise our arms as high as we possibly could above our heads. We all did it. She then said “now raise them higher” and we were all immediately able to raise them even higher.

It was such a simple, but effective demonstration of how we often feel like we’re doing as much as we possibly can, but there’s always more we can do if we just dig a little deeper within ourselves.
