Testimonial – Pam and Ron Smith

We are an older couple who were trying to make the transition from our home of about 20 years to an apartment during a period of rental shortages and rapidly increasing rents.

We needed to find a real estate agent who would help us through our transition. We chose to talk with Cheryl Burns mainly because of a TV ad she was running at that time. We called her and agreed to meet at our home shortly after.

We were delighted with her right from the start. She understood our circumstances and talked us through a plan that would meet our needs. She had studied the market identifying houses similar to ours that were for sale or had recently sold. We agreed on an asking price and a plan of action.

She and her team did an amazing job of “staging” our home and photographing it for market. She talked us through a selling plan that would get us top dollar in a short time frame to meet our moving plans.

We were nervous about what would happen when out house hit the market, and Cheryl was always there like a good friend, prompt to return calls and have continuing visits with us assuring us that our house would sell in a week.

Within two days of the open house, we had four bids for our home. Cheryl helped us navigate through selecting the best bid and helped us through the stages of finalizing the sale.

A couple of moments stand out for us in our experience with Cheryl. Firstly, how surprising the staging process was. We didn’t know what to expect but our house went through a wonderful transformation that was easy on us with results that amazed us. Secondly, we found Cheryl to be very confident that her sale plan would work. That confidence she had really lifted us through the last bits of nervousness we had.

We went from not knowing who to choose as our agent to being very happy we chose Cheryl. We strongly feel that anyone going through the process of choosing a real estate agent must include Cheryl Burns in their selection process. You won’t be disappointed.

Sincerely, Pam and Ron Smith

Spring in Canada... sort of! ❄️🌷

Just when we thought it was safe to swap the snow boots for sneakers… Mother Nature said, “Not so fast!”

Ellie and I are giving a very polite Canadian wave goodbye to winter, again.

Because in Canada, spring means birds chirping, buds blooming… and the occasional snowstorm to keep us humble. 😂

Whether it’s snowing or sunny, I'm here to help you find your perfect Island home! 🏡🐾

Worried about the stock market dip?

While the headlines are red with market losses, homes on the Island are holding steady. In fact, PEI real estate has a long track record of resilience, even when the global economy shakes.

I just wrote a new article that explains exactly why PEI homes don’t follow the same rollercoaster as stocks, and what that means for you as a homeowner, buyer, or investor.

What truly sets Prince Edward Island apart?

Yes, the beaches are beautiful. The golf courses are amazing. The seafood? Unmatched. But the real heart of PEI is found in its people.

Friendly Locals

From the classic PEI wave to the neighbor who drops off warm muffins; friendliness isn’t a gesture here, it’s a way of life.

And there’s no better example of this than Farm Day in the City. 💛

Each fall, as the busy summer winds down and the tourists head home, Islanders gather in the heart of Charlottetown to reconnect and celebrate what matters most:

** Family and friends
** Local food and farming
** Island-made art
** Live music and entertainment
** A strong sense of community

It’s more than an event; it’s a celebration of belonging, a moment when the island slows down and locals come together to simply enjoy each other.

This is the kind of life PEI offers; warm, welcoming, grounded in connection.

Are PEI home prices really coming down? Or are sellers just stuck in the past?
Interest rates are dropping. Sales are rising. But some homes are still sitting unsold.
Why? Because overpriced listings are missing the mark.

In this article, I break down exactly what's happening in PEI's real estate market right now, and what it means for buyers, sellers, and first-timers who are trying to make the right move in 2025.

If you're wondering whether to buy now or wait, or struggling to sell your home, this is a must-read.

Quiet Luxury at Home
Subtle. Sophisticated. Soulful.

Quiet luxury isn’t about loud logos or over-the-top opulence; it’s about intentional design, timeless materials, and understated elegance that whispers, not shouts.

Here’s how to bring it into your space:

Neutral Palette: Think warm whites, taupes, soft greys, and muted earth tones. The goal? Calm, cohesion, and serenity.

Quality Over Quantity: Choose fewer but better pieces. Invest in artisan-made, natural materials: linen, wool, stone, wood.

Minimal but Meaningful Decor: Let each object have a story. A sculptural vase. A vintage find. A framed memory.

Natural Light & Texture: Let light flow and textures speak. Combine rough with smooth, matte with glossy for quiet contrast.

A Sense of Peace: From soft textiles to subtle scents, quiet luxury is as much about feeling as it is about style. It should feel like a deep exhale.

Quiet luxury isn’t a trend — it’s a lifestyle.
Elegant, grounded, and effortlessly refined.

Let's stay in touch.
