Charlottetown, here’s your early heads-up!
Many of our biggest Christmas events take place this weekend, and several streets and transit routes will be affected. Please take a moment to review the road closures, parking restrictions and transit changes so you can plan ahead.
Charlottetown Police will be ticketing and/or towing those not obeying traffic closures or parking restrictions.
Friday, Nov. 28 – Sunday, Nov. 30 - Victorian Christmas Market
Beginning 4 a.m. Friday until 11 p.m. Sunday, the following streets will be closed with no parking:
• Queen Street from Grafton Street to Sydney Street (intersection at Queen and Sydney will remain open)
• Richmond Street (Victoria Row) from Pownal Street to Great George Street
Rural transit routes will detour around the Queen Street closure for the duration of the market.
Friday, Nov. 28 - Christmas Tree Lighting
• Grafton Street from Queen Street to Great George Street will be closed from 5 – 8 p.m.
• No parking on Grafton Street (Queen Street to Great George Street) and part of Kent Street (in front of Confederation Court Mall) beginning 12 p.m. Vehicles parked after noon risk ticketing and towing.
• Candlelight promenade begins at 6:15 p.m. from Confederation Landing Park and moves along Great George Street, Sydney Street, Queen Street and Grafton Street — please use caution.
• Downtown bus interchange moves to Kent Street (Confederation Court Mall) from 5 – 8 p.m., serving routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 23.
Saturday, Nov. 29 - Charlottetown Christmas Parade
Parade Staging Closures (2:30 – 4:30 p.m.)
• Raiders Road between Burns Avenue and Enman Crescent
• Enman Crescent between Raiders Road and University Avenue
• University Avenue between Enman Crescent and Belvedere Avenue (this section remains closed until 7 p.m. or event conclusion)
Parade Route Closures (3 – 7 p.m. or until event conclusion)
Road closures will be in place along the parade route and adjacent intersections.

• University Avenue between Belvedere Avenue and Euston Street
• Great George Street between Euston Street and Grafton Street
• Grafton Street between Great George Street and Pownal Street
• Pownal Street between Grafton Street and Fitzroy Street
• Fitzroy Street between Pownal Street and Terry Fox Drive
• Terry Fox Drive between Brighton Road and Kent Street
Vehicles parked on these streets after 3 p.m. risk ticketing and towing.

We encourage walking, cycling, carpooling or taking T3 Transit to reduce congestion. Expect delays, follow signage, and give yourself extra time.
