Yesterday, CKAR brought our REALTOR® community together to learn, connect and look ahead. 🏡✨

A huge thank you to Rob Love, Principal of Platform Adoption at Cotality, for an engaging look at the next generation of MLS® technology and what’s coming for our members and their clients.

From a more modern Matrix experience and smarter mobile tools to AI-powered listing features, enhanced CMAs, OneHome innovations and new ways for buyers to visualize the possibilities of a home, it was an exciting look at how technology continues to evolve the real estate experience.

Following the session, the OREA RE·Connect Social gave our members the opportunity to continue the conversation, build relationships and connect with colleagues from across our local REALTOR® community. A big thank you to OREA for making that possible! 💙

And thank you to the team at Willow Ridge Golf & Country Club for welcoming us and providing a wonderful space, lunch and hospitality for the day.

Home Sales were 10.2% above the five-year average and 3.8% below the 10-year average for the month of September.

⬆️ New Listings
New Listings were 9.8% above the five-year average and 29.9% above the 10-year average for the month of September.

⬇️ Average Price
Average Price of homes sold in September 2026 was $410,864, a decline of 4.2% from September 2025.

The more comprehensive year-to-date average price was $435,149, nearly unchanged, up only 0.5% from the first nine months of 2025.

More than 250 attendees came together for the Chatham-Kent Growth Alliance Municipal Candidate Open House on September 9.

The evening brought municipal candidates, residents, business leaders and community stakeholders together for meaningful conversations about the future of Chatham-Kent including growth, housing, infrastructure, fiscal responsibility and sustainable taxation.

CKAR is proud to be one of eight local organizations that make up the Chatham-Kent Growth Alliance, working collaboratively to advocate for responsible growth, investment, economic prosperity and long-term sustainability across our community.

Thank you to the candidates, attendees, volunteers and partner organizations who contributed to a successful evening.

Last night’s Chatham-Kent Growth Alliance Municipal Candidate Open House was an important opportunity to bring candidates, residents and the organizations helping drive our community forward into the same conversation.

CKAR is proud to be a partner in the Chatham-Kent Growth Alliance, alongside leaders representing agriculture, housing, business, development and property owners across our municipality.

For CKAR, this collaboration is also a natural continuation of the conversations sparked through our Housing Affordability Summit - recognizing that housing doesn’t exist in isolation. Infrastructure, taxation, economic development, agriculture, investment and meaningful consultation all play a role in creating a community where people can live, work, build and invest.

As REALTORS®, we see firsthand how decisions made today shape housing opportunities and the communities our members and their clients call home. By working alongside other key sectors, we can bring a stronger, more informed local voice to the table.

Home Sales were 9% below the five-year average and 19.6% below the 10-year average for the month of August.

⬆️ New Listings
New Listings were 16.1% above the five-year average and 32.1% above the 10-year average for the month of August.

⬆️ Average Price
Average Price of homes sold in August 2026 was $429,223 a small gain of 1.1% from the first eight months of 2025.

🏡 Canadian housing market activity for July 2026:

➡️ Home sales edged up 0.5% between June and July.

➡️ Actual monthly activity came in 5.3% below July 2025.

➡️ New listings declined 1.6% month-over-month-the third consecutive monthly decline.

➡️ The MLS® Home Price Index (HPI) edged up 0.1% month-over-month and was down 3.3% year-over-year.
