What an amazing summer season at Sugar Lake Lodge/Resort!

As the season winds down, we want to take a moment to give a heartfelt shout-out to the many people who helped make Summer 2026 such a memorable one.

A huge thank you to Kees and Vicki. Kees is our go to handyman and is always there when something needs fixing, building, moving, or figuring out. Vicki and the kids helped with everything from garbage and mowing lawns to flower beds, Saturday markets at the Sugar Shack, Costco pickups, and so much more.

To Marshall and Lisa! Thank you for always being willing to drop what you’re doing and jump in wherever needed. Whether it was helping with rooms, w**d whacking, trimming trees, working alongside lot owners, or tackling whatever job came up, your help meant so much.

A very special thank you to my son Lee, Marshall, Chris and the crew for all the hard work that went into our beautiful new deck. From tearing out the old one to rebuilding and bringing the whole project together, it was a huge undertaking. The finished deck looks amazing and has made such a difference at the Lodge.

And a heartfelt thank you to my daughter, Audra, for making the trip from Alberta to help at the Lodge this summer. From room cleaning and turnovers to pitching in wherever needed, her help was truly appreciated. And of course, my great grandson Tobias was right there making memories and adding a little extra energy to the summer.

To our lot owners there are simply too many of you to name individually, but please know how much we appreciate everything you do to keep Sugar Lake Lodge/Resort looking beautiful, welcoming, and cared for. From helping with flower beds and grounds to organizing activities, potlucks at the Sugar Shack, our fire crew and all the little things in between, you help make this place feel like a true community.

And of course, thank you to all of our Guests who chose Sugar Lake Lodge this summer. Whether you came for a family getaway, fishing, time on the lake, or simply a chance to slow down and enjoy the view, we loved having you here and being a small part of your summer memories.

From early mornings and busy turnovers to lake days, deck projects, laughter, potlucks, and everything in between Summer 2026 was one to remember.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Sugar Lake such a special place to be. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

Sarah,

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to come out and help us say goodbye to our dear Old Duke.

Saying goodbye to a beloved dog is incredibly difficult, but your kindness, patience, and compassion made such a painful moment a little easier for us.

You truly went above and beyond by coming to our home and allowing Duke to be laid to rest peacefully in familiar surroundings, with the people who loved him close by. That meant more to us than words can say.

Duke loved Sugar Lake and spent many happy summers there. He was always ready to greet our guests and lot owners with a loud booming bark, join us for a walk, or wander down to the lake and dip his feet in the water. Sugar Lake was a place he truly enjoyed, and those memories will always be part of his story.

Thank you for treating Duke with such dignity and for showing our family so much care and understanding.

Your compassion is something we will always remember.
