As a real estate professional, the concept of "home" is at the heart of everything I do. Today, on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, I am reminded that home is so much more than a house—it is a deep, sacred connection to the land beneath our feet. I am profoundly grateful to live, work, and explore properties being built or has built many amazing properties in the first nations communities on the unceded, traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ilw̓ətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, who have beautifully nurtured and protected these lands since time immemorial.
To the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities here in the Greater Vancouver area and across Canada: I see you, I hear you, and we walk forward together.
Today is a day for meaningful reflection, but it is also a powerful opportunity to celebrate the enduring strength, resilience, and rich heritage of your communities. True healing happens when we unite as families and neighbours, lifting each other up to shape a brighter present and future.
I want to honour, support, and stand in unity with every generation of your families:
• The children who carry the vibrant future and promise of tomorrow.
• The parents guiding their families with love, devotion, and strength.
• The brothers and sisters building strong foundations alongside one another.
• The grandparents and elders who keep the sacred wisdom and traditions alive.
• The cousins and extended relatives who enrich the bond of community connection.
I am incredibly grateful for your beautiful cultures and the profound wisdom you share about what it truly means to care for the land we all call home. We are blessed to have this lifetime to make a positive impact, and by uniting our communities, we can ensure Canada becomes a place where every child, every parent, and every family can thrive and live a truly great life. 🧡
