Why October is one of my favourite months in Grey County. 🍂
There is just something about October here.
The cooler mornings.
The beautiful colours.
The country roads lined with changing leaves.
Getting out for a hike.
A walk through one of our little communities.
And those evenings when you start thinking about cozy sweaters, a fire and maybe a glass of w**e.
I love every season in Grey County, but October has a way of slowing things down just a little.
And honestly, I think that's one of the reasons I love living here.

September in Grey County always feels like a fresh start, and the real estate market agreed. 🍁

New listings jumped 24% from August, and sales were up 13%. Compared to last September, we're seeing fewer sales (down 17%), a softer average price ($736,819, down 8.7%), and 9.6 months of inventory. In plain English: buyers have choice and room to negotiate.

But I have to brag on my hometown for a minute. Meaford sold 61 homes from July through September up 56% from last summer while the county as a whole was down 20%. September alone was up 50%, and prices rose 3.5%.

If you're thinking of selling this fall, the homes that are selling are the ones priced for today's market. And if you're dreaming of a move to Georgian Bay, this is a lovely, unhurried time to look.
