The Real Estate Report For June

Here is your Real Estate Market report for June.
We are seeing sales down and prices are in adjustment across the country, listings are up to pre covid numbers and homes are staying on the market much longer. Hopefully with the recent drop in inflation in the states and in Canada we may get some relief in interest rates.

The sales are still soft and as usual it is a recovery from the bottom up.
The first time buyers are sitting on the sidelines waiting for the interest rates to decline.
Without the first time buyers the second time buyers are not able to sell their homes.
The chain just goes up from there.
As usual the government waits to long to raise rates to cool the market and also waits to long to give the market some relief.

Here is hoping for a substantial interest rate decline coming soon.

The Lakelands West Real Estate market saw an increase in new listings and an increase in the average selling price compared to this time last year. The normal spring market did not materialize. In general it seems like the buyers are waiting to see what is going to happen with interest rates, and with inflation coming down we should see interest rates to follow and more buyers coming to the marketplace.

The firm buyers that are out there are looking for deals and the sellers who really want to sell are starting to align themselves with what the market price should be.
