There are far more than five details I could point out in this custom chalet, but these are a few that deserve a closer look.
So much of what makes this home special isn’t necessarily what you notice at first glance, it’s the thought behind the materials, construction and design choices throughout.

Not all metal roofs are created equal.
A true standing seam metal roof is a significant step up in both material and installation. Rather than exposed screws and fasteners, the panels are mechanically secured with concealed fasteners and raised seams, creating the clean architectural look you see here while offering exceptional durability and weather resistance.
It requires more material, specialized installation, more labour and a considerably larger investment than a typical exposed-fastener metal roof but the result is a premium roofing system designed for longevity.
And aesthetically? It was the perfect choice for this modern chalet.
One of my favourite details in the home and one you could easily miss.
The upstairs powder room is completely concealed within the beautiful white oak wall panelling, allowing the wall to read as one continuous architectural feature rather than another doorway.
The white oak then wraps around and continues down the staircase, creating a warm, beautiful and functional centrepiece that connects both levels of the home.
A perfect example of how something practical can become part of the design.
The kitchen already offers incredible storage with its cabinetry and double-island design, but the builder took it one step further.
Rather than allowing the space behind this wall to become wasted square footage, it was transformed into additional hidden storage accessible directly from the kitchen.
Pantry overflow, small appliances, entertaining pieces, wine storage, there are so many ways this space could be customized depending on how you live.
It’s tucked away, incredibly useful and another example of just how thoughtfully every inch of this home was considered.
The reverse floor plan wasn’t simply a design choice, there was a purpose behind it.
