This is exciting! New season about to start up! Lets get it done Corner Brook Minor Hockey Association

🚨 Exciting News from CBMHA! We’re proud to welcome Steph Seaward as our new Technical Director! 🚨

Steph was born in Corner Brook and spent her early years in Goose Bay and Appleton. At age 11, her family returned to Corner Brook, where her hockey journey with Corner Brook Minor officially began.

Steph’s hockey journey with CBMHA began in U11 Minor and continued all the way through Female U21. At the time, opportunities for female players were few and far between. In fact, the only female team consisted of players aged 12 to 21 and competed in the U13 minor division! 🤯

Her years with CBMHA, along with regional and provincial play, were filled with unforgettable moments. While it’s tough for her to choose just one favourite memory, every one of them was shared with teammates who became lifelong friends.

Her love for the game followed her into the Canadian Armed Forces, where she served as an Aircraft Structural Technician and played for the CFB Borden Women’s Hockey Team—winning Regionals twice and Nationals.

In 2013, Steph sustained a traumatic brain injury during a pre-tournament game which ended her competitive playing career and military service. But Steph’s passion didn’t fade—it evolved. She turned to coaching…..

Over the years, Steph has held numerous roles within the hockey community, including:
🏒 Coaching staff for Hockey Nova Scotia’s High Performance Program (U16 & U18 female teams)
🏒 Assistant Coach at the Atlantic Challenge Cup (U16 & U18 female teams)
🏒 Six years as Assistant Coach in the Maritime Major Female Hockey League (U18 AAA)
🏒 Head Coach of Hants East Rural High School Female Team, leading them to the school’s first-ever Provincial Banner
🏒 On-Ice Director and Head Coach at two Halifax preparatory schools
🏒 Founder and operator of SEA4CE Hockey, an adult women’s learn-to-play program
🏒 Former Risk Manager with Hockey Nova Scotia for four years

Now, back where it all began, she’s led the CB U15A Royals last season and is continuing to build the future of hockey in her hometown. Rumour has it- many years ago Coach Steph told her Late father that she would love nothing more than to be the TD for CBMHA someday- his response was: “Well Little Buddy, go for it! Work hard, & make it happen.”
