We love transforming challenging spaces—and this bathroom was no exception!

Our clients drew inspiration from the iconic blue tiles of the Ishtar gate, combined with the tranquil palette of sea and sand.

The result? A space with a touch of ancient Babylonian grandeur, balanced with calming sand-and-sea elements, creating a serene, coastal vibe alongside the bold historical influence. 🌊✨

What you might not guess from the after photos: the original layout had a lot of wasted space in the middle of this oddly shaped room. We brought the wall forward to create a built-in storage tower plus glass shelving for towels, a clever hidden niche in the shower for shampoo bottles, and a custom vanity mirror with hidden storage behind it, maximizing every inch for both beauty and function.

Before

Dated finishes and cluttered surfaces made this bathroom feel tired and closed-in.

The layout lacked flow and the storage wasn’t functional for modern living.

After

Bright, open, and spa-inspired—custom shelving and a freestanding tub create a luxurious retreat.

Modern finishes, layered textures, and thoughtful details elevate the entire space.

We’re thrilled to share a sneak peek of the exciting exterior redesign for our beautiful oceanfront condominium project in Comox! 🌅

We have been hard at work transforming this development into a stunning coastal retreat that embraces the beauty of the ocean while providing enhanced weather protection and an inviting atmosphere for the owners.

Many thanks to the dedicated design committee for communicating a clear design direction for the project and the many hours spent making this project successful. Also, many thanks to all involved in the engineering and construction that helped take the project from concept to reality.

We are so excited to see this project come to life after over two + years of careful planning and phased construction with our lovely clients. In 2021, we got our toes wet (so to say) with their master ensuite and then moved to their master bedroom and walk-in closet.

In 2022, we moved on to the major project, which involved removing a homework nook which overhung the hall leading into the kitchen, reframing a wall and changing windows to balance out their hallway and living room entrance and bring in more light. Finally, we completely redesigned their kitchen, laundry and bonus bathroom. What a delight it has been to work with our fabulous clients - it is so gratifying to see them enjoying their new spaces! More pictures are coming to our website and Instagram soon.

Huge thanks to all trades involved in the next level of detail and planning we brought to this project: Main Street Renovations(contractor), Mario Fehrenberg (cabinets), Massey Electric Inc., Greenspace Renovations and John VanGroningen @ Best Choice Painting. Reality is pretty darn close to this final rendering we did for our clients before construction, but the truth is that we are often so busy working on the next project/s that we don't always get back for the real-life pictures! Either way, we love hearing from our clients about how the renovations have improved their lives.

We finished up most of the details on this Waterproof Studios commercial project a while back and then COVID hit, so we are still awaiting the painting of a large mural and removal of the logo on the back wall. I thought I would post these in the meantime, since it's been a long wait😀

The lobby of this space was especially challenging due to the long narrow shape and lack of natural light, but the addition of some feature lighting and floor to ceiling mirrors helped to create an upscale, fun vibe. We are pretty happy with how it turned out!
