Im excited to share that I’ve recently joined the Board of Directors for the Home Inspectors Association BC and have also become a licensed trainer within the association and CPBC.

These opportunities allow me and Timberline Home Inspections to continue growing professionally, collaborate with industry leaders, and contribute to the ongoing advancement of the home inspection profession in British Columbia. I’m proud to play a role in helping strengthen our industry while continuing to provide my clients with the highest level of service, knowledge, and expertise.

It’s officially May, and we’ve already experienced some summer weather. It’s supposed to be a rainy couple days here in the Kootenays, but once the sun is back and shining it will be the perfect time to tackle some outdoor maintenance.

Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for our beautiful area to be affected by flooding and/or fires, so now is also the perfect time to get prepared in case you do need to be evacuated from your home.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘆-𝗕?
Polybutylene, often called Poly-B, is flexible piping used in hot water systems and residential plumbing from the late-70s until the late-90s. It was popular because of its flexibility, low cost, and ease of installation.

𝗦𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹?
Since Poly-B has experienced many failures, this has affected the insurance that Insurance Providers may offer to homeowners who have it in their houses, including offering coverage of Poly B with verification of copper fittings only, and on occasion denying coverage of any Poly B piping.

Although there has been a lot of controversy over the use of poly b, these water systems have acted without failure in many homes for extended periods of time.
