If you have a chimney and don't have a rain cap on it your chimney is completely exposed to the weather. Moisture in a chimney can cause tiles to crack, over time creosote will get behind the tiles making your chimney vulnerable to chimney fires.
A great indicator of moisture in your chimney is efflorescence, white chalky powder on the outside of your chimney.

Q: What does that mean?
A: It means heat escaping through leaky window and door seals, or improper Vapour seal.

I had the pleasure of Inspecting a Fishing Lodge in Winter Harbour last year. It consisted of 2 houses 4 cabins, a shop and a fish processing facility.
I also had the pleasure of enjoying the amenities of the lodge as well as take in a bit of fishing while I was there.
Since then, Glenn Olsen purchased the lodge now called Oli's Fishing Charters.
One of the perks of being a Home, Commercial, and Recreational property Inspector is getting to travel to these great places from time to time.
