Day of the REALTORS®
Whereas REALTORS® are dedicated to providing Nova Scotains with the knowledge and guidance needed when buying or selling a home; and
Whereas REALTORS® contribute to building our communities through donating thousands of hours of time to dozens of different charities in our province each year; and
Whereas real estate transactions through the Nova Scotia Association of REALTORS’® MLS® System continue to contribute to the economy of the province through spin-off benefits;
Therefore I, Stephen McNeil, Premier of Nova Scotia, do hereby proclaim June 8th, 2016 to be the “Day of the REALTOR®” in the Province of Nova Scotia.

This is how we in real estate co-operate. It is nice to have friends like this.
Over $186,000 Raised So Far for Fort McMurray with $250,000+ on the Way
REALTORS® across the country have been moved by the images coming out of Fort McMurray and our community has responded to this disaster with an outpouring of generosity.

After only a week and a half, we have collectively raised over $186,000. The Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation has cut an initial cheque for this full amount for the Canadian Red Cross. Tens of thousands more dollars have been pledged and are expected to be received shortly. In fact, earlier today we were blown away to learn that our American friends at the National Association of REALTORS® have committed to donating $250,000 to the cause!

On behalf of the Canadian Real Estate Association and the Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated so far and all those who have challenged their colleagues and friends to do the same.For those of you who have yet to donate, it’s not too late. It's amazing what we can accomplish together and we’re not done yet!
