The time has come, folks. The Bank of Canada has officially lowered the overnight lending rate to 4.75% as of this morning. 📉

What does this mean for you?

If you have a variable rate mortgage, this will affect you because the variable rate products are directly tied to the overnight lending rate. If you're on a fixed term or looking to take a 3 or 5 year fixed mortgage rate, this will not directly impact you.

This also means that buyers are going to feel more confident in the market, which may create some more competition when looking for your new home.
