Well, after 13 days on the market and multiple, multiple offers. The dust has settled and we have gotten $13,500 more than the asking price.... Hmm, well I'm not a mathematician but maybe we should have waited another week to get it to $20k? 🤷‍♂️

AHA, ahem. Anyways... Thanks to all involved in this hectic, back and forth, battle of attrition! Not really. It was actually a preeeetty smooth transaction.

Right now is a great time to buy OR sell a piece of property. The mortgage rates are low. Although this would be considered a sellers market, there are still great opportunities for first time home buyers to purchase.

I would highly reach out to someone you trust (ME) to get some advice as how to maneuver this tricky, post-rona real estate market.

I heard someone talking saying "I'm not paying my rent this month because my friend got laid off due to NOVID-19 and I'm just going to use the same excuse to my landlord and not pay rent"

WTF?!?

This person was not laid off and still had a job.

I don't even know where to begin. Landlords have way more bills than the average person paying rent. They have liabilities, big time loans, and insurance and run the risk of non paying tenants, tenants who damage their property, banks banging at their door for the mortgage, etc. You get the point.

Don't be that type of a person. If you were laid off due to what's going on. You can't be evicted and there will be government aid coming soon. Be patient, and don't be someone who literally thinks that just because someone they knew was laid off and can't pay rent. That they all of a sudden don't have to pay it when they still have the ability to.

Don't just defer your mortgage because you're able to. Discuss with your bank/mortgage broker about the best option for you.
