As we start another month, it's easy to focus on everything that wasn't done and overlook how much progress has already been made.

We're often so busy chasing the next goal that we forget to appreciate the habits we've built, the lessons we've learned, and the small wins that have quietly moved us forward.

Not every month brings major milestones, and that's okay!

Growth isn't always obvious while you're in the middle of it, but that doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Before jumping right into a new month with a new goal, take a moment to reflect on how far you've come and give yourself credit for the progress you've made along the way.

What is one thing you're proud of from this past month?

One thing life has taught me is that plans evolve, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

The goals you had five years ago may not be the same goals you have today. Priorities change, circumstances change, and sometimes life takes us in directions we never expected.

That doesn't mean you've failed or that you've somehow fallen behind. In many cases, it means you've grown.

Taking time to check in with yourself and make adjustments along the way is part of building a life that reflects who you are today, not who you were years ago.

Success isn't about following the exact same roadmap forever. It's about making sure the path you're on still aligns with what matters most to you.

Mindset Monday 💭

When we think about major milestones like buying a home, becoming mortgage-free, or reaching a savings goal, it's easy to focus on the finish line. What we don't often talk about are the hundreds of small decisions that helped make those moments possible.

Consistency is the least exciting thing there is, but it matters. Setting money aside regularly, asking questions, reviewing your finances, and making thoughtful choices over time can have a much bigger impact than people realize.

Progress doesn't always come from one big breakthrough. More often, it comes from continuing to do the little things, even when the results aren't immediate.

If your goals feel far away right now, remember that you don't have to accomplish everything at once. Sometimes the most important thing you can do is simply keep moving forward.

Let's retire the idea that a daily coffee is the reason homeownership feels out of reach ☕️

Could cutting back on small purchases help you save more? Sure.

But for most people, the bigger opportunities come from having a plan - an actual plan!

➡️ Understanding how much down payment you actually need.
➡️ Taking advantage of tools like an FHSA or RRSP.
➡️ Creating a realistic savings strategy that fits your lifestyle.

The goal isn't to eliminate every little enjoyment from your budget. Plus, I need that coffee!

The goal is to be intentional about where your money is going and make sure it aligns with what matters most to you.

Because building a down payment is usually less about one coffee and more about consistency over time.

What's one financial goal you're currently working toward? And it's totally fine if it's cutting out coffee spending ;)

Mindset Monday 💭

It's easy to look around and feel like everyone else is getting ahead faster than you are.

Someone bought a home before you
Someone paid off debt quicker
Someone else seems to have everything figured out.

But after years of working with people in all stages of life, I've learned that comparison rarely tells the whole story.

Everyone has different priorities, responsibilities, and timelines. What matters most is not whether your journey looks like someone else's, but whether you're making decisions that move you closer to the life you want to build!

This week, instead of focusing on where other people are, take a moment to recognize how far you've already come.

Sometimes we forget that progress is still progress, even when it happens quietly.

Many homeowners don't realize how much can be adjusted when their mortgage comes up for renewal.

It's not just about a new rate (it hardly ever is)

Renewal is an opportunity to review things like your term length, payment structure, prepayment privileges, flexibility, and whether your current lender is still the right fit.

The best mortgage isn't necessarily the one with the lowest rate.

I wish I could shout this from the rooftops!

It's the one that supports your goals and gives you the flexibility you need moving forward.

Before you sign your renewal offer, make sure you understand all of your options.

A few minutes of review today could make a big difference over the next several years.

As another month comes to a close, it's easy to focus on everything that's still left to do.

The goals you haven't reached yet.
The projects that aren't finished.
The things you wish you had done differently.

But growth isn't just about chasing the next milestone. It's also about taking a moment to recognize the progress you've already made.

Maybe you stuck to a budget a little better this month.
Maybe you asked questions you've been putting off.
Maybe you paid down some debt, added to your savings, or simply made more intentional decisions with your money.

Not every win has to be big to be worth celebrating.

Sometimes the little victories are the ones that build the foundation for bigger things to come.

Before jumping into a new month, take a moment to look back and acknowledge the progress you've made, even if it doesn't feel dramatic.

What's one thing, big or small, that you're proud of from this past month? 💭

Your mortgage renewal might be one of the biggest financial opportunities you'll have this year.

And trust me when I say, there are a lot of people who are coming up for renewal this year...

In my 20+ years of doing this, I could count on all fingers and toes times over how many calls I get AFTER someone has renewed and they want to make a change.

It's not that we can't; it just becomes either more difficult or expensive.

Before locking into anything for another 3-5 years, take the time to understand your options.

Mindset Monday ☀️

Many of the biggest financial decisions in life don't happen when everything is perfectly lined up.

The right time to buy a home may not be when rates are lowest.
The right time to start saving may not be when you have extra money sitting around.
The right time to make a plan may not be when life finally slows down.

Waiting for perfect conditions often leads to waiting longer than you should be.

Progress usually starts with making a decision... to start.

If you've been putting off a financial goal because you're waiting for the "right time," ask:

What would happen if I started preparing now?

You don't have to have everything figured out to take the first step.

06/15/2026

Last week, I talked about creating moments to pause and focus on what matters most.

This week, I find that applicable once again.

Today is my birthday, and it's a reminder that while goals, plans, and progress are important, so is taking time to celebrate.
We spend so much time thinking about what's next. The next milestone. The next project. The next financial goal.
But life isn't meant to be lived only in pursuit of the next thing.

It's also meant to be enjoyed along the way!

Celebrating doesn't mean you've stopped growing. It doesn't mean you're done striving. It simply means you're recognizing the people, moments, and experiences that make all the hard work worthwhile.

So wherever you are in your journey, whether you're saving for a home, paying down debt, building your career, or working toward something bigger, don't forget to acknowledge how far you've come.

Progress deserves to be celebrated, too.

What's something you're celebrating, big or small, this week? 🎉
