Our rooftop was buzzing with excitement 🐝 at Yorkville Park's tenant event yesterday. Guided by our beekeeper, Mrinmayee from Alvéole, residents got an up-close look at our new rooftop hive; home to about 60,000 bees and a queen (soon to be named).

After meeting the bees up close, residents headed to the lounge to enjoy sweet treats and refreshing peach-honey spritzers. This urban beekeeping initiative launched in early June to support local pollinators and bring our Yorkville Park community together. We loved seeing everyone come out to learn about our bees, and we’re already looking forward to our first honey harvest in late August!🍯

Congratulations to our incredible teams for their outstanding effort at the Second Harvest Truck Pull!

Not only did we successfully pull a 20,000-pound delivery truck across Nathan Phillips Square, but we also raised $7,425, nearly $2,500 over our target, and leading the ranks!

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, Second Harvest will be able to provide 450,000 meals to people in need and prevent thousands of pounds of good food from ending up in landfills.

Thank you to our participants, cheer squad, donors and Second Harvest for such a fun and meaningful event!
