Happy Monday morning everyone. Starting today, and every following Monday, I'll be posting a photo of an issue found at my inspections over the years to help educate on what not to do in your home, and how to correct it.

In this photo, a compression (or saddle) valve has been installed on a PEX pipe. Over a short period of time, the pipe will deflect under pressure, this compression will fail, and a plumbing leak will occur. A properly installed shut off would prevent this from happening.
