❤️ Another removal became an opportunity to help a family.

This story started with a regular Friend with a Truck job.

Liz hired us to pick up and transport her new washer and dryer, install them in her home, and remove her old set.

There was just one thing about the washer and dryer we removed — they still worked great and were in very good condition.

Rather than seeing good appliances go to waste, we knew there had to be a family in Edmonton who could use them.

Then we received this message from a grandmother about her daughter — a mom with five children, including a newborn. Her dryer had broken down, her washer was leaking badly, and Grandma was trying to help keep up with the family's laundry. With five children, including twin toddlers and a new baby, that had become an enormous challenge.

We knew exactly where Liz's washer and dryer needed to go. ❤️

So today, Dylan and I loaded them into the Friend with a Truck trailer, delivered them to the family, carried them downstairs and installed them at no charge.

And there they are — hooked up and ready to go! 👍

A huge THANK YOU to Liz. By hiring Friend with a Truck and allowing us to find a new home for her perfectly good appliances, something she no longer needed became something incredibly valuable to another family.

And thank you to Grandma for reaching out and advocating for her daughter and grandchildren.

This is what we're trying to do whenever the opportunity presents itself.

One customer needs something removed.
Another family desperately needs it.
Sometimes we get to be the truck that connects the two. 🚚❤️

❤️ COMMUNITY GIVEAWAY — WASHER & DRYER AVAILABLE FOR A MOM WHO NEEDS THEM ❤️

Here we go again, Edmonton!

Thanks to the generosity of Liz, Friend with a Truck has received this very good, fully functioning washer and dryer set, and we want to get them into the home of a mom who could really use them.

There is no cost for the washer and dryer — and Friend with a Truck will deliver and install them for the family we select.

We know there are moms in our community who are starting over, going through a difficult transition, or simply don't have the resources right now to purchase appliances like these.

👉 If that's you, or if you know a mom or family who genuinely needs them, please send Friend with a Truck a PRIVATE MESSAGE.

Tell us a little about the situation, who you're nominating, and why this washer and dryer would make a difference for the family.

Please don't share anyone's personal circumstances publicly in the comments. A private message is all we need.

We'll review the messages, select a recipient on Monday, and our plan is to deliver and install the washer and dryer Monday evening.

Good furniture deserves a second home. ❤️

Recently, Sage Seniors Association reached out to Friend with a Truck about a senior they were supporting who was starting over in a new home and needed help furnishing it.

Thanks to furniture we had received through our removal work, we were able to step in and help.

Instead of good-quality furniture being discarded, we were able to rehome it directly with a senior who needed it — helping turn an empty space into a comfortable home.

This is something that has become an important part of what we do at Friend with a Truck.

Our customers hire us to move or remove their belongings, but whenever we receive good furniture that can still serve someone, we work hard to find it another home. Through relationships with organizations like Sage, we're increasingly able to connect those donations with seniors, families and others in our community who are starting over.

A big thank you to Sage Seniors Association for connecting us with their client and for the work they do supporting Edmonton seniors.

And thank you to all of our customers who have allowed us to rehome their furniture. You're helping us prove that sometimes a removal doesn't have to be the end of something — it can be the beginning for someone else. 💙

From one basement to another — and into the home of someone who really needed it. ❤️

Today was another great example of what can happen when people in our community work together.

A big thank you to Marc and Laura, who reached out to us with a washer and dryer that could be donated rather than discarded.

Evgenie and I headed over, carried the washer and dryer out of the basement, loaded them into the Friend with a Truck trailer, and took them to their new home.

The recipient was a single mom who badly needed a washer and dryer for her family.

By the end of the day, what started as two appliances that were no longer needed in one home were installed and ready to use in another. ❤️

That's one of the things we're working hard to do at Friend with a Truck. When we're moving, clearing homes or working alongside professional organizers, we often come across good furniture and household items that still have plenty of life left in them.

Whenever we can, we try to connect those items with people in our community who genuinely need them.

Thank you, Marc and Laura for thinking of us and making this donation possible. And thank you to Evgenie for helping me do the heavy lifting today! 💪

During a recent estate removal with our friends at Sort and Simple Professional Organizers and Angela, we came across a working washer and dryer that deserved a second chance instead of ending up in the landfill.

At Friend with a Truck, we believe that if we can help someone in our community, we should.

So we're giving this washer and dryer away FREE, including FREE delivery, to someone who truly needs it.

Every estate has a story. Every family is navigating a transition.

Today we had the privilege of working alongside Kaytlyn and the amazing team at Sort and Simple Professional Organizers on an estate clear-out for one of their clients.

Estate projects are never just about moving furniture. They often represent a significant life transition for a family, and we're grateful to play a small part in making that process a little easier.

This project was a true team effort with Frank, Dave, and myself, and as always, it's a pleasure working alongside the Sort and Simple team. Their professionalism, compassion, and care for their clients make them wonderful partners.

One of the best parts of today's project was knowing that several pieces of quality furniture won't end up in the landfill. Instead, they'll be passed along to individuals and families in our community who are starting over and in need of a helping hand.

Thank you, Kaytlyn and Sort and Simple, for trusting Friend with a Truck to be part of your clients' journeys. We look forward to many more opportunities to work together.

It takes a community. ❤️

Today we had the privilege of helping a single mom and her teenage daughter move from one suite to another.

What made this move so special wasn't just the furniture we moved—it was the incredible group of friends who showed up to help.

A whole crew of teenagers gave up their time to carry boxes, lift furniture, and support their friend and her mom during an important transition. It was inspiring to see so many young people come together simply because someone needed a hand.
To all of you who helped today, you should be proud of yourselves. Your kindness, teamwork, and willingness to help made a real difference.

At Friend with a Truck, we move a lot of furniture, but days like today remind us that the most important things we move are people forward.

Three days ago, we received a message from a single mother of four who was moving into a new home with very little furniture.

Like many families starting over, she was focused on creating a safe and stable environment for her children, but furnishing an empty home can feel overwhelming when you're rebuilding from scratch.

Over the last few days, thanks to the generosity of our customers and community, we have been able to make a great start.

Furniture donated through recent removal jobs for Sort and Simple Professional Organizers , Bonnie and Nicole, and Darcy has already found a new purpose in helping this family create a home.

Today, Evgenie, Dave and I had the privilege of unloading a trailer full of furniture and delivering it directly to the family. Seeing the relief and excitement as the home began to come together reminded us why we do this work.

To everyone who trusts Friend with a Truck with their moving, junk removal, and furniture removal needs—thank you. Every time you choose us, you're helping create opportunities like this one.
