This retail strip centre is conveniently located 15 minutes away from the Jasper National Park Gates, and a variety of nearby shopping centres.

Since then, he has structured over $800M in privately financed debt, established KV Capital’s first private equity fund with four companies in its portfolio and revenues of $60M per annum, and services over 1,000 investors managing approximately $200M in capital on their behalf. Under Aleem’s leadership, KV Capital has been awarded Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies (formerly the Growth 500) award for six consecutive years since 2015. Prior to Aleem co-founding KV Capital, he was the controller of The Brick’s financial services group when the company went public in 2004.

Today, Aleem currently sits on the KV Mortgage Fund Board of Directors and the KV Private Equity Fund Board of Directors. He is a previous Chair of the Edmonton Aga Khan Grants and Review Board, as well as a previous Board Member of the Ismaili Council for Edmonton. In 2014, Aleem won the Business in Edmonton Leaders of Tomorrow Award.

Outside of work, Aleem enjoys golfing and is a true family man who enjoys travelling and, most of all, watching his three children play hockey and ringette.

Shafin has over thirty years of experience in the finance field and over twenty years of executive management experience. Feature Friday: Today, we would like to introduce you to Kyle Thomson, Senior Accountant, Private Equity.

As senior accountant with the private equity team, Kyle supports the financial reporting and forecasting activities of the private equity fund. He assists fund management's decision making by preparing and reviewing monthly operating reports for the fund and portfolio companies. Kyle also works closely with the portfolio company managers and finance teams to monitor cash flow needs and company performance.

Before joining KV private equity, Kyle articled with PwC Edmonton's Assurance team, where he worked with clients ranging from small owner-operated companies to large multi-national public companies across a variety of industries. He has three years of accounting experience, and is looking forward to bringing his skillsets to KV Capital. Kyle is currently working towards his CPA designation, has completed all requirements and is currently awaiting approval.
