The Cannabis Act is the law which legalized the recreational use of Cannabis across the nation, effective October 17, 2018. As a resident of a Condo, make sure you have a CLEAR understanding of the rules and regulations under your condo board. Although Cannabis was legalized, your condo board still has the right to outright BAN the use of cannabis on the premise. Landlords are within their jurisdiction to prohibit the growing, smoking, va**ng, and overall enjoyment of Cannabis. Create a culture of understanding and reasoning with your condo board to ensure your rights are not infringed upon. You must respect your neighbours around you. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS!! Did you know, as Condo Owners in Alberta, you are ENTITLED to receive 17 documents from your organization within a 10 days written notice? Check section 44 of the Condo Act because you will NEED them in order to sell your condo when it’s time.
