What is travelling to you?✈️🌎
I've always loved it and always will. But only in 2020, I realised how essential it is to me. It's one of my non-negotiable lifestyle values.
It's necessary to feel alive— the necessity to emerge in new cultures, new cuisines, new people, and lifestyles.🌇
If my loved ones or friends can't go with me on an adventure I want, I'll definitely go alone. In fact, I wouldn't want company on some particular trips.
Travelling alone once in a while can push you out of your comfort zone. It can put you in a situation where you'd need to use all your problem-solving skills. You'll use the parts of the brain you might neglect in your daily life. 😝
There's so much excitement and uncertainty that makes travelling addictive. 🥰
But what if you can't go on a trip? Usually, I'd feel profoundly unsatisfied or even unhappy.
Today I realized that it's the novelty I'm seeking. And if trips aren't in the picture, I can still generate some novelty in my life to experience the same emotions.🤩
I've never thought of it from this angle. Going to a new restaurant, taking a new class, learning a new skill, talking to new people: all of this can turn into an exciting adventure.
It might not be as intense as landing on the other side of the world, ready to explore, but it's pretty powerful.
If you implement enough minor "novelties" in your life and explore them one by one, you'd feel alive and pumped most of the time.🤞🏻
What are your thoughts on this? How often do you feel stuck in your routine, waiting for vacation to change it up a bit?
