No classic “standing on the doorstep with the keys” photo today because Edmonton decided to deliver rain in full Old Testament mode 🌧️😄

So instead, we grabbed the photo where everyone actually wants to be on a day like today… inside the house and dry.

When K first started his search, we toured quite a few new builds, and they were lovely. But in the end, none of them could quite compete with this lovely bungalow on a massive lot in a mature neighbourhood with all the space that’s so hard to find.

And honestly, the timing worked out perfectly. With this week’s weather, Mother Nature is basically handling the lawn care while he moves in 🌱

Huge congratulations K! Thank you for trusting me to help you find your new home. I hope this house brings you many happy years, great memories, and at least a few sunny moving days ahead ☀️🏡

Some days you’re the REALTOR®, other days you’re apparently a professional mover with questionable lifting technique, a deep emotional attachment to duct tape, and absolutely no upper body strength left by the end of the day 😄

Last weekend, on one of those rare “days off”, me and hubby rented a U-Haul and helped our daughter move to Calgary.

And honestly, moving days are such a reminder of why buying and selling homes can feel so overwhelming. It’s never just about boxes and paperwork. It’s excitement, stress, exhaustion, takeaway food, forgetting where you packed the kettle… and occasionally discovering your husband’s driver’s licence expired while you’re standing at the U-Haul counter 🙃

So yes, our carefully planned moving schedule quickly turned into:

• emergency trip to the registry
• licence renewal
• back for the truck
• absolute loading chaos
• gasoline alley snacks and caffeine
• arriving in Calgary completely shattered

The original plan was to unload, freshen up, and head out for a nice dinner.

The actual reality was sitting in the hotel room eating Mexican food while discovering the previous occupants hadn’t signed out of their Disney+ account on the TV 😂

We did rally the next morning for brunch though… and purely by coincidence happened to park beside an ice cream shop, which honestly felt like a reward from the universe.

One thing moving always reminds me of is this: people massively underestimate how physically and emotionally draining it is. If you’re planning a move, give yourself more time than you think you need, pack an “open first” essentials box, and for the love of all things holy, check everyone’s licence expiry dates before moving day 😅

Also, if anyone needs me this week, I’ll be recovering quietly somewhere with a good book… oh who am I kidding, it’s busy season, I’m out showing homes 😄

 Custom-made for these two? Absolutely 🥹🏡✨

The sun was shining when Jenna and Kieran picked up the keys to their very first home last night, and honestly, it felt meant to be.

These two did such a great job throughout the whole process. They got their pre-approval in hand before starting to shop, figured out the areas and lifestyle that would suit them best, and really took the time to work out what mattered most in a home. That preparation paid off because after viewing some truly questionable “renovations” 😅… they finally found the one.

And last night, they officially got the keys. 🔑

Watching first-time buyers’ step into their home for the very first time never gets old, especially when there’s a proper carry-over-the-threshold moment involved 😂 Bonus points to Kieran for committing to the assignment when I told him he had to carry Jenna in.

Congratulations you two. I hope your new home is filled with laughter, cosy evenings, great memories, and many, many takeaway nights while unpacking boxes ❤️

It was key day for K & C yesterday… and the sun decided to show off right on cue ☀️

This one was definitely a case of waiting for the right home to come along, and when it did, it was the right area at exactly the right time. Of course, it was also the right home for someone else, so K & C had to compete… but they stepped up, stayed calm, and got it done.

And honestly, it’s the best feeling when it all comes together like that.
