Adopt dont shop....
🚨 🚨At this time, the shelter is temporarily closed to all dog intakes as every kennel is at full capacity.
In the past three days alone, we have received approximately 20 requests for dog surrenders. While we understand how difficult these situations can be, we are currently unable to accommodate additional intakes. At this time, we can only add individuals to our already extensive surrender waitlist.
We kindly ask for the community’s patience and understanding. If you are able, we strongly encourage exploring safe and responsible rehoming options independently while you await availability, as current wait times are significant.
We have experienced an increased number of stray dogs being brought in- now that the weather is nice, it seems there are lots out for adventures! We have had a number of dogs that have not been claimed, even with collars or name tags on.
While we are happy to keep them safe and sound, we are also at maximum capacity, as of today every kennel is full (some having to double up with a friend).
We urge everyone to please keep your dogs secure, and have identification on them- a collar with a phone number, town license, or microchip.
If we are to receive another stray dog, we are at last resort of using crates to house more dogs, which is not ideal.
Additionally, if you have found a stray dog, please CALL the shelter so we can prepare or try to find placement. We are currently closed to any surrenders at this time, until adoptions pick up.
If you are looking to adopt, please check out the many amazing dogs we have for adoption- a few have been waiting nearly a year!
Thank you everyone for understanding. Please give our post a share in hopes to reach more people and to help encourage adopting 🥰 🚨🚨
