One of the things I appreciate about Edmonton's mature neighbourhoods is that they were built before every inch of land had to be maximized.

There are trees. Actual trees 🌳

The streets feel established. The roads have recently been repaved. And despite being minutes from Downtown, you don't feel like you're living in the middle of the chaos.

I love those moments between a week's worth of rain where the sun comes out and it feels like a perfect day!

That was yesterday morning at 7:30AM. I was travelling out to Conklin and Janvier to meet with local entrepreneurs through Noble Choice Coaching. Left a little early to stop by my listing at #208, 234 Stony Mountain Road and it was just blue skies and sunshine - my kind of morning ☀️

This condo is waiting for its new owner. 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, corner unit in a professionally managed building. A little piece of something to call your own for only $69,900. Started my day off today dropping off the For Lease sign at the office of The Lore Group - Coldwell Banker United. Why? Because she asked me to grab the sign the other day for her to pick up from my office this week when I handed keys to my client on the recent commercial lease we negotiated together… and instead I thought why not just drop it off for her.

Now I’m not writing this post to say “look at me I’m awesome” 😆

I’m writing this post to make a point about having good relationships in this industry!

I’ve recently negotiated two commercial lease deals with Susan Lore in the past few months and I have to say they were pretty smooth. We both advocated for our clients while being professional, respectful and kind to one another. That’s how real estate should be!!!

Next time you’re interviewing an Agent - whether it’s for a commercial lease or a residential purchase or sale - a key question to ask is, “What is your relationship like with other Agents?” The unfortunate truth is that, while I’d love to say all Agents have great relationships with others, it’s sadly not the case. But having great working relationships with the other side will ALWAYS work in the client’s favour!

Yes you want an Agent who will fight for your position - but that doesn’t have to result in a “fight!” There is a way to properly advocate for your client’s needs and wants while maintaining professionalism and good relations with the other party.

Today was one of those full circle moments for my client that reminds me why I’m so passionate about entrepreneurship and helping people build something meaningful.

Years ago, this space was where she first started working as an employee. Today, she stood in front of those same doors with her family by her side getting the keys to what will become the future home of HOST YMM!

Getting to be part of that journey through BOTH of my worlds - as her Commercial REALTOR® and her Business Coach - honestly fills my bucket in the biggest way.

We navigated competing offers, uncertainty, strategy, emotions, and all the moving pieces that come with taking a leap this big… but she stayed grounded in her vision and we made it happen!

I don’t take it lightly when people trust me to walk alongside them at the beginning stages of building something they truly care about. There’s something so special about seeing the dream before it fully exists yet, and then watching someone brave enough bring it to life anyway. I love the energy that exists in the endless possibilities of entrepreneurship, and I’m so honoured to be along for the ride!

I couldn’t be happier for Olivia and her family. This is just the beginning of something big! Stay tuned Fort McMurray!
