🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | September 30, 2026 🧡

At Meyers Management Consulting Group, we recognize September 30 as an important day to pause, listen, learn, and reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools in Canada.

We take this opportunity to honor Residential School Survivors, the children who never returned home, their families, and all those whose lives continue to be affected by this history.

While our office will remain respectfully open during our regular business hours, our team will be taking time throughout the day for education, reflection, respect, and acknowledgement. We believe that learning and understanding are important parts of continuing the journey toward reconciliation, and we are committed to continuing to build awareness and knowledge within our organization and community.

🧡 Local Community Gathering

For those in the Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo region who would like to participate, a Community Gathering and Solidarity Walk will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at kiyām Community Park in downtown Fort McMurray.

10:00 a.m. – Community gathering and opening remarks
11:00 a.m. – Solidarity walk
Participants will also have an opportunity to contribute to a community heart garden in remembrance of children lost to the residential school system and in honor of Survivors and their families.

The event is being organized by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and Wood Buffalo Rural Community Connection in partnership with the Athabasca Tribal Council and is open to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Reconciliation is an ongoing journey, and we believe that education, understanding, respect, and meaningful conversations can help us continue moving forward together.

🍂 MAINTENANCE MONDAY | FALL EDITION 🍂

As we transition into fall here in Fort McMurray, it’s a great time to take a few minutes to look over your home and property before the colder weather arrives. 🏡

A little preventative maintenance now can help prevent costly repairs and unexpected issues later.

Here are a few things to keep in mind this season:

🔹 Check your exterior – Look for damaged siding, loose trim, or areas where moisture could get in.
🔹 Clear gutters & downspouts – Make sure leaves and debris aren’t blocking proper drainage.
🔹 Inspect doors & windows – Check seals and weatherstripping for drafts or gaps.
🔹 Check outdoor faucets – Make sure hoses are disconnected and outdoor taps are properly prepared before freezing temperatures arrive.
🔹 Keep entrances & walkways clear – Leaves, debris, and wet surfaces can become slippery as temperatures drop.
