𝗔 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗧𝗢𝗥𝗬 𝗟𝗜𝗞𝗘 𝗡𝗢 𝗢𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 🏡💭

I usually write these posts about connection. About the people I get to work with and how amazing that always is. But this one is different. This sale connected me with a stranger who I’ve gotten to know and a home that holds every piece of my childhood.

About 6 months ago, Jacob called me thinking he might sell his rental property. I asked for the address, and as he started saying “1…1…4…A…” — 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺 𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄. Hold the phone. 114A Windsor Drive. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗠𝗬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲. The house I lived in for 17 years.

We both couldn’t believe the connection was there.

The home has changed a lot since I lived there. Jacob put real care into maintaining it over the years, replacing and looking after all the major components, giving both himself and a future owner peace of mind. And even though so much has changed, it’s still the same home that holds so many memories for me.

Real Estate is wild. It’s always different, it always pulls on my emotions in ways I don’t expect, and it never stops surprising me. But 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹.

𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗦! 🏡🎉

This one started out as your average listing. The plan was to sell the condo fully furnished, since it had previously been a rental. But things took an unexpected turn when a small leak from the baseboard heating turned into torn-up flooring and repairs that needed to happen.

Navigating a situation like that means a lot of phone calls — condo board, insurance companies, buyers — but 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲. In the middle of it all, we still managed to receive and accept an offer from a buyer who understood that one bedroom’s worth of repairs wasn’t the end of the world.

The sellers were champs from start to finish, staying flexible as we worked toward a solution that worked for them and the buyer. And in the end, it all came together … 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗱.

I appreciate sellers who can roll with a curveball and trust me to find a way through it. Thank you for trusting me through all of it — congrats on your sale!
