Update for tenants of Gannett Place and Whimbrel Terrace Apartments.

Important Information for Flood Evacuees from Gannet Place and Whimbrel Terrace

While inspections have been completed at Gannet Place and Whimbrel Terrace and gas and electricity have been restored, all refrigerators in occupied units have been removed and discarded due to food spoilage.

Replacement refrigerators have been ordered and are generally expected to be delivered within one to three weeks. Re-occupancy has commenced in a few units, where replacement
refrigerators will be made available within one to two days.

Residents who re-occupy units without a refrigerator are required to accept the inconvenience, without claiming an entitlement or right to any rental rate reduction, and are required to sign a waiver in this regard.

The building entrance locks have been changed. New building entrance keys may be obtained from the Property Management Office, which is located at 106 9602 Franklin Avenue.

Please note that a boil water advisory remains in effect for all neighbourhoods in Fort McMurray and is expected to remain in effect until September 2020.

All common areas and touch points were cleaned and sanitized following the inspections.

The properties will continue to be cleaned and sanitized with increased frequency in order to help prevent the spread of germs.

Residents are reminded to practice social distancing when returning to Gannet Place and Whimbrel Terrace.

Update for residents of Snowbird.

Update on properties downtown that did not sustain serious damages.
At this time, we are in the process of removing and replacing fridges for health safety reasons. We are also waiting for approval from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo to declare the buildings safe for occupancy. As soon as we have been cleared to allow occupants back into the building, we will post a notice.

The projects that were not seriously damaged in the flood include:
- Snowbird
- Gannet
- Whimbrel Apartments

As noted in an earlier post, Parkland is already approved for re-occupancy.

Unfortunately, other properties have sustained more serious damages and will not be available for re-occupancy in the near future. These properties include:

- Lunar Apartments
- Skyview Apartments
- Whimbrel Terrace Townhomes
