Jane, there hasn’t been a day in the last 9 years that we haven’t missed you.
Nine years sounds like such a long time…
and yet, in so many ways, losing you still feels like yesterday.
We never really understood loss until we lost you.
There are still so many things we want to tell you.
So many moments we wish you were here for.
So many times we imagine what you would say, how you would laugh, and how much you would love being part of it all.
We know you’d be proud…
So incredibly proud of your daughter, Sarah, and the amazing woman she has become. We see so much of you in her, and we know how proud you would be of the life she is creating.
And you’re still so much a part of our family.
When the cousins get together, we still talk about you. Your name comes up in the stories, the memories and the laughter. You’re always remembered, and I hope somehow you know that.
Proud of the strength we have all found to keep moving forward while carrying the enormous space you left behind.
Proud that, even through the grief, we have found reasons to laugh, celebrate and choose joy.
But the joy is never without the ache of missing you.
Because no matter how many years pass, there will always be moments when all we want is our sister back.
To hear your voice.
To laugh with you.
To have you here for all the big moments, and especially the ordinary ones.
9 years without you, Jane, and there will always be the 3 of us.
~ Always loved. Always missed. Always with us.❤️
